   Just a family chilled out atmosphere, simple, generous and very tasty local food, all in a relaxed family/greek atmosphere. I never had so much to eat for little money! the restaurant is located just on the nearby street to Drossos hotel off the Road of Perissa.

   Vanilia is an absolutely beautiful restaurant in Firostefani. It's a bit outside Fira so is kind of hard to find unless you know where you're going. It is however, well worth a trip. The inside of the restaurant is lovely and the terrace upstairs is absolutely beautiful and offers stunning views of the volcano. The menu is varied and I would recommend the spaghetti with lobster which I think was a special the night we were there. The starter of mussels in local wine was lovely and the pork with thyme and honey was also a favourite . The cheesecake and baklava were also very tasty. Everything in fact was so good that we went back on our last night! The staff are very friendly, one of the waiters actually came up to us in Tropical Bar later that night because he remembered us!! It's very popular so it's probably worth ringing ahead to get a table on the terrace. Highly recommended!!close

   Aktaion is a traditional Greek restaurant at the church in Firostefani just beside Vanilia. There is a small menu offering variations on local dishes. Try the moussaka. Again this restaurant has lovely views so try to get a table out on the pathway to really appreciate it.

   Delicious, crepes, waffles, coffees and fresh juices. We went there almost every day for breakfast. The veggie crepe with greek sauce is yummy as is the waffle with maple syrup. Fresh orange juice is tasty and refreshing. Great staff!

Papagalos is beside Ambrosia & Nectar which also seemed to be very popular but we decided to try Papagalos although it was actually much quieter than the other place when we went in. There is a view from the retaurant but maybe isn't as good as other places in Oia or in Fira. The place started to fill up though and there is a nice atmosphere. We ordered a couple of starters to share and the best of them was definitely the grilled squid. For mains we had the saganaki risotto, the pork belly, cod tempura and the crab ravioi. Everything was delicious except for the crab ravioli which I had chosen and which I normally love. It was definitely a bit too al dente for my taste and I didn't like it at all. I was a bit disappointed and when the waitress asked if everything was ok I mentioned that I didn't really like it. She immediately offered to bring me something else and after a couple of minutes she brought me out the saganaki risotto. She was extremely pleasant about it and said it was no problem at all. I think she was American or maybe Greek-American and she was very professional and friendly all evening. Overall, the food was lovely in Papagalos and its easy to see why it has been voted one of the top 50 restaurants in Greece. I definitely would go back... I just wouldn't have the crab ravioli this time.close
