This is more of a hotel than a hostel. I was pleasantly surprised. The rooms were clean and included everything we needed. The staff was very helpful, and recommended us a great restaurant! Please keep up the great work.

This hostel doesn`t have any fun activities but it is like staying in a hotel. Everything is very clean, new towels every day, a TV-set in the room and a private bathroom. I really enjoyed staying there especially because of the privacy and tranquillity.

Excellent hotel at an excellent price. Location is close to the train station with lots of bars and shops nearby. Staff were very friendly. Only downpoint was that it can be a bit noisy at times with people slamming doors and with it having wooden floors. However if I was in santiago again I...

We could not believe how clean and tidy the place was. The most luxurious place I've ever stayed. Brilliant value! And only 10 min walk from the cathedral!

Clean, modern and very comfortable with a fantastically hot, powerful shower. just remember that the reception is on the 4th floor! a few minutes walk to the station and about 15 minutes walk to the beautiful old town. would definitely stay there again.

It's an excellent location - 15 mins to the Old Town. We really enjoyed our stay in Hostal Mexico, the staff could have been a bit friendlier but on the whole it was an enjoyable experience, feels more like a hotel than a hostel, and Telepizza room service was an added (very welcome) bonus!

Located in the new part of Santiago close to bars, restaurants, clubs and shops, yet only ten minutes walk from the park and the old town with its narrow streets and ageless charm.

It was a nice place with the lobby situated on the floor above ground level. They held our bags for us after we checked out so we could walk around the city. It was very pleasing for our first stay out of the country.

The room was big enough and the bathroom was adequate. Hot and powerful showers. The room and bathroom were cleaned every day and the bins were emptied and the beds made. What was most pleasing was the price. It was very reasonable. Great value for money. The most disappointing thing would probably be the fact that the walls are paper thin! We could hear every word being said in the rooms above us and next to us...quite annoying when trying to get to sleep! The view out the back is not great either. All in all, I would go back. Very clean and reasonably priced.close

Mexico is very well appointed as a hostal and we ( the mrs. and me) both felt that it must have been a hotel at one time in it's history as the facilities were every bit as good as many of the "superior" hotels we have stayed in. Location wise, the R. Mexico is a short stroll up the hill to the gothic quarter of Santigo de Compostella, with many interesting shops and cafe´s en route. To sum up- excellent value and much better than either of us expected- being the hotel snobs that we are!close

If you're looking for a reasonably decent priced hostel, I highly recommend Hostal Mexico. It's located very close to the town center (only a short walk) and is in what seemed a safe area. The staff were very pleasant and helpful and the rooms were immaculately clean!
