“ Very central. The desk staff often sat playing games on the computer and did a very basic check-in but there were no bed bugs as described by others and all very good for the price. Great service on the rooms. ”

“ Room was very clean but there was an extremely strong musty smell. Of course, after a few hours, i got used to the smell but my clothes smelled of it after 2 days. Otherwise good value for money. ”

“ I was eaten alive by bed bugs!!! Forty to fifty bites all over my body. When I reported it to the staff its as if he didn't believe me! Just stared at me and made no offer to rectify it nor to properly adhere to San Francisco health code upon report of bed bugs. ”

“ Very tired hotel in need of refurbishing, but rooms are very clean and staff work hard to keep guests happy. Fantastic location in a safe neighborhood. Starbucks right next door. This is not a good property for someone who is fussy, but is a very good property for someone who can tolerate a few... more ”

“ The hotel was excellent. We had our own private room and bathroom. We were right by Union Square, the Bart, and Cable Car. Although there was a large homeless population, we felt very safe. I would highly suggest staying at the Union Square Plaza Hotel. ”

“ I was very disappointed on every level apart from price and location. Cleanliness was bad- peeling paint, a bath that would not drain, etc. In addition, your reception staff member had his ipod on and showed no friendliness or warmth whatsoever. “ The staff was absolutely great, but this hostel has to work on the building that it has, the rooms are too old and noisy. Fixing the bathrooms was a good step towards that. Still, the way it is now, only the very budget traveller can be absolutely happy. ”
