The gaslamp quarter is charming, the harbourfront is pretty, the food is everything you could want, from cheapest to finest, and there are plenty of organic and vegetarian options. The local hostels are way above average. It\'s easy to get around on the adorable trolleys. And Mexico is literally a walk away! I didn\'t rain once the whole week we were there, either. In short, this is a clean, fun, friendly city with something for everyone.close

The weather, the beach and the general chilled out culture is brilliant. We booked an apartment on Mission Beach. The bars are lively at night time and enforce a very strict over 21s policy. The city itself is very clean and seems to be full of new development. Took a trip to see the Padres play in their new stadium. Good experience if a little long. Food was very good and generally well priced. Would go back here again and againclose

I stayed downtown for 3 nights in USA Hostels which was great fun. I then moved to the beach for the summer. I lived on Mission Blvd. Mission Blvd separates the Beach from the Bay.
It is a real party place and the locals are very friendly. Great place to visit for a J1 or just a holiday.

Right when we got there we were told of where and when to go around town and about local tours they were going to be hosting around town. The staff was super friendly and helpful if we had any questions (since we had never been to S.D) and we were very pleased staying at a hostel- since it was our first time staying at one and didn't know what to expect. I would totally recommend staying at this hostel to friends if they ever visit San Diegoclose

Pedestrians were walking with their pets as often as possible during the day,so that puts the city totally animal- cholic situation. The weather was perfect here. Prices were cheap if you compared to New York and Los Angeles, but I say still average. There were so many attractions and parks in San Diego. I didn't have enough time to see them all,but I recommend travellers to check the Seaworld,San Diego Zoo, Balboa Park and San Diego Gaslamp District sure to be able to get a idea about the city. There were bonfires and beach parties all around the beaches of San Diego.Mission Beach,Pacific Beach,La Jolla and Ocean Beach were the ones that I liked! Well, I don't know what else I say about this great city. I would plan to visit this city again! I had so much fun,Thanks so much to Hostelworld.com for everthing.close

USA Hostels San Diego 85%
Best hostel i've ever been so far and i HAVE seen a few of them while traveling! :) The only minuses are: - There's no access to kitchen before 7am, thus you can NOT eat your breakfast at the hostel if your e.g. bus leaves before that. - The showers have only cold water after 6pm...

4The San Francisco USA hostel is much better than this one. It was ok. But definately not great. We stayed 5 nights and the showers were cold everyday, didn't matter what time it was. Staff weren't very helpful at all. Kitchen was very small. It was clean though. And free Wifi.

Too much bleach used, when cleaning. Computers not very good. But overall great value. Reception staff very good, especially Heidi!

Good healthy food. Right beside the beach and Bay in San Diego. Great pancakes. Good place to go for breakfast. On the down side, you might be waiting a while for a table as this place is so popular.

Dog Beach in San Diego100%
I was visiting a friend in San Diego when he told me that the plan for the afternoon was to spend some time at Dog Beach. Thinking nothing of the name, I put on my swim suit, packed the beach basket, and we hit the road. To my dismay, as we walked passed a few big boulders and turned the corner onto Dog Beach, all I could see was DOGS. Small dogs, little dogs,...

Great place for some fun in San Diego. Just off the beach this park offers fun for all ages.. with amusements indoors and out, a FlowRider surfing platform offering year-round training for the boardsports community, a gym, and swimming pool. It also boasts the Giant Dipper Roller Coaster - one of two original oceanfront roller coasters still operating on the...

Petco Park80%
Home of the San Diego Padres, Petco Park was opened in 2004 and is one heck of a stadium with great views of San Diego city. Petco Animal Supplies, Inc. purchased the naming rights for $60 million over 22 years, thus the ballpark was named Petco Park. Ball games seem to be one 3 or 4 nights of the week and usually start about 7pm. Tickets start from $18 for...
