The city is slightly european in style, with narrow cobblestone streets and colonial architecture. You can have a coffee and sit in the zocalo, take a stroll through the mercado, visit one of the many churches or maybe a trip to the mayan medicine museum. But there are many interesting thngs to see outside of the city as well. I went to Palenque, Canon del Sumidero, San Juan Chamula and they were all amazing. When you return to San Cristobal there is a charming night life. The city is very cosmopolitian, there are many travelers and ex-patriots. The city is full of music and art. There is a great little independent movie house called kinoke. San Cristobal is a very special place.close

Run by a lovely couple with a son and two dogs, Casa Jardin was a lovely place to stay for a few days. The hostel is close to the Zocalo and is very secure. As the hostel is also the family's home, lights typically go out at 10pm and the whole place becomes rather quiet, however, there are...

The staff were great, the two mexican ladies who checked us in were so funny and although we couldn´t understand eachother, they made us feel realy welcome! however, there were very few people there and no real social area, so not alot going on! is good if your looking for some privacy though.

Very clean and well organised B&B with very helpful staff. They made us feel very comfortable. The fruit with yoghurt and muesli breakfast is to be recommended!
