4well, Rostock, it's not exactly a tourist mecca! Which does make it difficult if one is not at least willing to try the most rudimentary german. The beach side suburb of Warnamünde is a perfect way to spend the day, only a few minutes out of town by s-bahn, but a whole world away in...more well, Rostock, it's not exactly a tourist mecca! Hanse-Hostel Rostock 95%
The staff is very friendly and provides great advice on what to see and do in Rostock. They are quite proud of their town and love to show it in the best light. A nice hostel overall.

Braeckfoest Hostel 77%
A nice easy place to find, clean and quiet and reasonably priced. I wish there werent so many dire threats of fines for smoking, and pious lectures about water usage environmental damage laminated on the walls,(not very welcoming, that) but other than that no problem.
