The appearance of the hotel is very bad. There was hardly any water to flush the toilet. There was hardly any water from the taps and from the shower head. DO NOT STAY HERE. Stay at a 3 star hotel at least.

Ideal value for money! The situation is not nice, nor romantic, but very convenient when coming from the airport by train. I was concern about the area in the night, but even being a woman travelling alone I did not feel any threat.

Hotel Tokyo was just what I wanted. A budget single room which was clean and quiet. I had a small room at the back with a TV which was perfect at a reasonable price.

The location is excellent, right in front of Termini train station. The reception was not attended even at 9am, so I couldn't check-out when I wanted. I nearly missed the train to the airport... If you need to check out before 9am, make sure you pay the night before.

Although we called MULTIPLE times and rang the buzzer for over 30 mins, no one answered. My mother, 2 year old daughter and I walked around Rome on a cold Saturday Night until 1:45 am turned down by booked hotels until we finally found one. This not being bad enough, two men followed us trying to persuade us to go with them in a private vehicle to a "their hotel" If you say to contact the hotel after midnight, make sure someone is there. The whole reason for pre-booking is to avoid this from occurring. I cannot accurately rate anything but the staff for this hotel because we did not stay, this is why the rate and average.close

We had no choice but to check into a more expensive hotel at 1am in the morning. The next day, we checked into Hotel Tokyo for the remaining three nights and did not even get as much as an apology from them. From the beginning we noticed that it was impossible to have a shower any longer than 3 to 4 minutes before the water went freezing cold. If there are 2 people staying it is 100% impossible for the second person to have a shower after the first. After 2 days there, we asked for it to be fixed, along with the toilet, which had been completely blocked since our arrival. We were told that someone would come around to fix it for us but nobody arrived. In the end, we just had to accept the miserable showers and fix the blocked toilet ourselves. Up until this, we had to use public toilets for 2 full days. Upon leaving the hotel, an attempt was made by the owner to maintain that we had paid less of a deposit than we actually had. In essence, she tried to over charge us without even an apology for the first night or possible compensation in the form of discounted room rates for the displeasure we had experienced for the whole length of our stay with the shower and toilet facilities. Basically, you are paying at least 70 euro a night for just a really good location - but if you're arriving late, you will most likely have to stay somewhere else that night which defeats the purpose of booking one location!! In summary: staff (except 1 girl) were useless. Ignorant and unresponsive to any difficulties we had encountered with our facilities (which only amounted to a room and bathroom - no lobby, no restaurant, no working toilet).close
