There aren't many cities in the world like Roma. No matter which way you turn you set your eyes on imposing monuments, dramatic statues or lavish fountains. Walking around the streets today it is easy to envisage what it would've been like centuries ago when crowds thronged to the Colossuem, Caesar's foot soldiers paroled the streets and everyone was decked in sandals. Once darkness falls it isn't as lively as some other European cities, but if you don't find a bar which gets your pulse racing don't worry - the city looks twice as breathtaking at night.

I went to the Colosseum and the Vatican, both just breathtaking and gave me the chills the whole time I was there! Make sure to also visit the Victor Emmanual Monument (the first king of Italy), the Trevi Fountain is amazing (especially at night), the Patheon was great! And if you are as lucky as I got, you might be able to see the Pope and sit at mass with him! It was the most memorable moment of my trip!! I would definitely go back to Rome and enjoy it for much longer!close

Save plenty of time for the Colosseum and the nearby hill and Forum. Try to hit some of the sites at night when they are lit. Go to some of the less known Piazzas and have a look around. Make sure you get Gelati! The Roman people are not the warmest in the world, but the sights in the city itself make up for it. What would I change? Encourage people to stop the graffiti that is EVERYWHERE.close

The best way to see Rome is to divide it (and its sights) into areas, and try to visit one or two a day. Also, it helps if you can just give yourself one day to wander about. We did, and we covered quite a lot of ground, and saw things we wouldn\'t have seen otherwise. A day of exploring and planning NOT to stand in queues is a great relaxing way to spend your time in a city which can get quite stressful. If you\'re not a bit walker, then take the bus. We didn\'t bother with the Metro, didn\'t have to. Take our advice, and get the bus TO the sight, then if you\'ve the energy walk back afterwards. Bus tickets are EUR1, so it\'s worth it. And think of the toned legs you\'ll have after all that walking! But don\'t attempt to walk there AND back - my office-based legs just couldn\'t cope with that, and I love walking about!close

Whilst I appreciate that situations arise, they had made no attempt to contact me before my arrival, despite having my full contact details, and refused to understand (in either English or Italian) when I asked for assistance/suggestions in finding alternate accommodation. Ruined an otherwise fantastic holiday, and I will certainly avoid this place like the plague in futureclose

The little crampy bathroom had no lock and the shower turned from hot to cold all the time. When you showered the entire floor got flooded. The rooms are little, the beds uncomfortable. With the window closed the room gets extremely sultry, but when it's open there is a lot of noise. The breakfast is very poor and the '24-hour-check-in' is closed during the late hours. So, in a nutshell: Enjoy your stay...close

A fantastic little hotel, Christina was so welcoming and the hotel itself was beautiful. The vatican is a 5 minute walk away and the other tourist attractions are no more than a gre stops away on the metro, which is so simple to use. This hotel made our time in Rome that little bit better.
