first of all i had organised with the hostle a airport transfer to pick us up . no one turned up so we spent an hour in Rio airport trying to find the best way to get to the hostel. on arrivle i dicussed this with the hostle they respance was oh well you are here now ... not good ..... very... more first of all i had organised with the hostle a airport transfer to pick us up . no one turned up so we spent an hour in Rio airport trying to find the best way to get to the hostel. on arrivle i dicussed this with the hostle they respance was oh well you are here now ... not good ..... very poor... The room was that small it was clear that the doom room we were in was normally a 4 bed doom and because of carnavale they have added a extra bunk. so when the extra bunk was added it ment that all three bunks were side by side touching each other turning into one very large bunk.....very poor.... As they have done the same in other room the wc/showers at the end of the hall could not cope with the extra people. the room or showers were not cleaned. by about day 3 with out our room been cleaned we had to ask at front desk to please clean it. it was also common to have to walk down 4 flights of stairs to ask front desk for some toilet paper as they would never restock the toilet...very poor.... the hostle should be asked alot of question by you at hostel world because in all we were not happy and now have been using HOSTEL INTERNATION hostelsfor the remainder of our trip in brazil.... we would never recommend this hostel to any one ...close

Just a bit further off the track than most of the other hostels in the area, darker streets to navigate at night...but the place was clean, service excellent, and the breakfast ample.

Nice enough staff but not very helpful when it comes to tours unless you persist. Though you might be better sorting out tours with agencies yourself. At least you'll get on the tour! Some rooms are excellent (though a little run down) others aren't so good so if you find you are next to the... more Nice enough staff but not very helpful when it comes to tours unless you persist. Some rooms are excellent (though a little run down) others aren't so good so if you find you are next to the noisy stairs then ask to change rooms immediately (the elevator is often broken down)close

Very cheap for the quality. Near the centre of Iponema shops and a short stroll to both the beaches, also the bus to the metro is near. Excellent for the money esp in Rio. I do wish though that they wouldnt leave the room keys on the counter for anyone to pick up!!

Didnt like my stay they put me right next to reception & got woken up alot. Shower was cold despite asking 4 times - rpaired on day I left Dont use the Hotel driver - charges 3 times what ataxi costs Hotel charged me over the odds for a daytrip

With regards to location... the hotel is at a very convenient spot however as it turned out the specific street was marked by the police for drug activity... I am sure of that as during my stay my backpack was stolen at the beach so the tourist police came and took me to the hotel but DID NOT... more With regards to location... the hotel is at a very convenient spot however as it turned out the specific street was marked by the police for drug activity... I am sure of that as during my stay my backpack was stolen at the beach so the tourist police came and took me to the hotel but DID NOT enter the street with the patrol car as they did not want to be seen in the area... (they explained that to me, I do not assume it). The hotel itself is reasonably safe, I had no problems but I wouldn't recommend it for the simple reason that I just explained.close
