All is good except the location. Neighborhood a bit sketchy with a lot of homeless and bums especially around the area of shopping, please note that I never felt unsafe and I think that you should go for this one.

Great small-hostel vibe. Perfect location for visits to Sugar Loaf. Clean, friendly, safe. Closer to nightspots in Lapa than hostels by the famous beaches (copa, ipanema). Thumbs up :)

The hostel has a good location in a quiet street. Breakfast is basic, and the rooms should have been cleaned better. Staff need to be more helpful.

Sun Rio hostel is in the best location to access all areas of Rio. The staff are excellent, super friendly and informative about everything!! The hostel was always clean, offered excellent excursions and the facilities made our stay easier (and cheaper-it was good to cook for ourselves!!) Would be nicer if the towels were included in the price, only 1.5reals each but appears better to a traveller if included.

This is a great hostel. Botafogo may not have the appeal of Copocabana or Ipanema but they are both very accessable and Botafogo is cheaper. The staff are great and willing to help in any way. I am coming back to Rio in six months and I will be staying hear.
