Overall a positive stay. Staff take a little to warm up to guests possibly overworked & underpaid who knows? You have to work for what you want though. After seeing my room with no aircon, I fought to get a room with one & it was worth it. Elevator needs a revamp as not often working.

great party hostel with plenty of good organized toursand entertainment. Lots to keep you amused in all weather and a massive bonus of great food at the bar in the evening. Hostel good for all age groups

The hostel is a little bit dirty but the fun factor makes up for all of it...I higly reccommend booking a room with ten beds or less because they have air conditioning...The location is ideal...You can get to the beach in like 2 minutes and there are tons of tours that are totally worth the...

Very old place, not clean. Beds are ok, not noisy when i was there. A good remodeling of the place wouldn't hurt.

the rooms in the 5th floor are very noisy! breakfast from 7 or 8 o clock on would be better than from 9.

This is a very fun hostel to stay at with excellent trips/activities organised every day but don't expect a quiet nights sleep if you are in the double room next to the TV room.

Big place with lots of floors and rooms everywhere. Seemed pretty much completely populated by English and Irish people. The bar is great...though if you have friends who dont stay in the hostel they have to pay to use the bar and also have their photo taken - slightly OTT!!

Beds aren't that comfortable and you won't get much sleep here but it is a party hostel so that is obvious anyway. Not bad but could be so much better. Great building and facilities but lazy staff and strange rules. Bar doesnt open until 5 and you can't bring alcohol into the hostel. Tub closes at 9pm. Don´t stay here if you want to sleep - i didn´t sleep much but had the time of my life. Ended up staying 10 days instead of 3 and had so much fun. Met some of the best backpackers and made friends for life. Love this hostel!!!

Good, big hostel with plenty of people and fun. Breakfast served until 1 pm and there´s a toasted sandwich maker, which gave breakfast a definite edge over other hostels. However, the tours are extremely overpriced and you can source cheaper, better options on your own.

Great place if you`re looking for a party hostel, bar stays open till 3am! Brilliant atmosphere & great place to meet fellow travelers! Dinner served daily too. The only negative thing is the showers! Dont expect a hot one or certainly not a high pressure hot one anyway!

Possibly the noisiest hostel I have ever stayed in. Although security was good they did nothing to shut up the immature screaching 18 year olds at 5am. Wonderful location: really nearly of the subway station and the copacabana beach. Also a safe place, because there are vigilants near the entrance.

I really enjoyed my stay at Mellow Yellow, although its full of English and I kinda come away from England to meet other people from around the world. Anyways, enough moaning, lol, good hostel, great party atmosphere, although food and tours expensive.

9 bed dorm was filthy, smelly and untidy for the 7 days I was there. Sheets, towels and unwanted belongs which were on the floor when I arrived were still there when I left. Staff were excellent and the hostel was otherwise good. Its party party though.

great location, right near the beach, sweet place if you want to party. good food if a bit expensive. lots of tours on offer. staff are a bit hardcore in enforcing rules but that´s the only thing bad about it!

Some people working there (and not the brazilian ones) are quiete rude but apart from that IT WAS AMAZING!!!! Met people there that made my trip to Rio unforgetable! If you ad the really nice happy hour and the jaccuzi, you don t have anything else to complain...

There was a serious bed-bug problem. I was bitten several times in just two nights of staying there. A few of my friends were also severely attacked by bed bugs. They need to deal with this problem. It is just not worth the money to be plagued by a pest while you sleep.
