Not the cleanest hostel ever,bathrooms need a proper clean and the dorms are really stuffy and dirty! Good place to meet people though!and the staff are friendly and helpful!!!

apart from the lack of cleanliness, this was a great hostel to stay in.if the bed ts were changed more frequently and thee rooms cleaned, overall it would be a very good hostel to stay in

I totally recommened the Favela Tour and the City Tour that they offer. Both give you a very cool insight into Rio.close

I would recommend Ipanema Wave to anyone wanting to stay in the Ipanema area! Alex is an excellent host, really helpful and great fun! The hostel is cozy and homely, which makes for a great atmosphere.

Awesome location, def better than copacabana beach. great place to meet others..Room was quite hot, and not that clean, but otherwise would stay here again

For travelers interested in meeting others, Wave is great, but there are definitely better accommodations in Ipanema (and even in same alleyway as Wave).close

you were told to be quiet after 10pm which is way too early for Rio, the hostel had no party atmosphere. the breakfast left alot to be desired too.

We really liked our time in this hostel. The people were amazing. Not the cleanest of hostels in the world and needs some work, but we loved our time here and the staff were excellent.

great location and exspeacialy the staff. alex and johan are the best and really helpfull. the cleaning lady is really nice aswell and does a amazing job at cleaning the hostel. the hostel is only two blocks from the beach and n3 from the lake. pubs and clubs are good and close by.

Excellent hostel with very good staff, Alex and Nathan are really cool and easy going, always willing to help with local information. Thanks guys. Very good location, 45 seconds to the beach, good restaurants nearby, nightlife. All good. You should stay here.

pleasant hostel, well situated in a safe cul de sac in Ipanema with few other hostels, 5min from the beach, english spoken, helpfull staff (ask whatever you need to know about the town to Alex,breakfast ok, 2fridges,good backpackers hostel...

I really enjoyed my stay there. The atmosphere, the staff, and the other travellers made it very good. They should do something with the bathrooms, and the breakfast.. make it better:)

Do not stay here. Alex runs the place - he is sleazy and unprofessional. The bathrooms are tiny, you have to run round the cold shower to get wet. My bunk was just a bunch of broken slats. You cant beat Wave for the atmosphere and people, everyone on the street wants to hang out at Wave. Charlie is great.

By far the worst hostel I have ever stayed in. The staff (and the hired goons to stand over us) were the only reason I didnt leave. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!!!!!!

Great place to stay, everyone working there is really friendly and helpful. a bit annoying that its on a residential street as you have to be in the hostel by 10pm, a bit of a leak in the room i stayed in. but these are not too bad, the friendliness and location make it a great place to stay.
