Fantastic atmosphere at hostel. Only negs: Our double room was just that, a box with bed in - could use some furniture! Also internet free yet compulsary internet tax of 5 real (so not tecnically free) Great location 300m to beach. Ipenema is better neighbourhood, lots of harmless sleepy...

The hostel is very nice, and in a great location, but the best thing about it is the staff. So helpful, friendly, and outgoing, and always ready to pick up the phone to help you with an enquiry.

Nice place, well located though five or six blocks from the beach. Very much a party hostel. If it rains, you will spend the whole time drinking the reasonably priced capirinias

The bathrooms in the dorms could have been a little cleaner, ie empty the toilet paper bins more than once a day. Also I killed a ock roach the size of a small cow in the kitchen.... enough said

WOW, only stayed here one night but a really cool hostel. Acacia the girl that works here is one of the most helpful members of staff I have come accross in a hostel, a complete legend. Thanks you Che Lagarto. Mike.

They are old and don like noise after midnight. The crowd is good. Itś a different, friendly community each night.close

They had crammed a load of really wobbly beds into the Pool Table Room, the door didnt lock and I didnt get a pillow. Also the downstairs toilet was constantly blocked. The bar was always running out of ice, cold beer and change. Also last time there was pool competions and beach football everyday, but like I said its probably different because of Carnaval craziness. The party atmosphere in this place is top notch, I met some great people and had an amazing carnaval time.close

Che Lagarto hostel had a very good party atmosphere when I visited. It also has good aspects like a TV room and bar. The hostel manager, Nataniele, is a very friendly and helpful person.

Anything you needed or any question you had where just a few words away and they would do there best to accomadate those needs. The day receptionist (Acacia) and the night receptionist (Daniel) where both great and a lot of fun. The night life at the hostel was always good as well with a happy hour everyday which is always a good thing when you enjoy a drink or 2. The manager (Nataniele) was very cool as well she always had a smile and was always on top of things, she even tried to arrange a cheap scuba dive for me great girl. Then there was Bruno he was just the best, a crazy man with no rules my kinda of guy.All in all I felt very welcome and ended up staying at the hostel longer than i planned due to how much i enjoyed my time there. I will be back for another stay in the future.close
