Worst hostel i have stayed in in Brazil and its my 6th one. Staff werent very friendly, beds were tiny and smell was unbearable.

The staff (Kuda & Pablo) are briliant, they help everyone out and make everyone feel welcome and included. We went out every night we were there and had a ball with fellow backpackers. If u want to have heaps of fun and see the real Rio stay here.

Good hostel, especially for the price. The staff are really nice (especially Luna), and helped us book things. The showers are good, and there are loads of bathrooms. Very clean and secure.

The staff is very friendly! Luna and Paulo are always ready for any explanation or for having fun and going with the group to a party. Great happy hours in the hostel. It´s a fun hostel, but not noisy, everyone is respecting the rules. I had a great time here and on my next trip to Brazil I will...

This place is by far the BEST hostel I have every stayed in. The staff are incredible. They went out with us at night, which made me feel so much safer to be around people who knew the neighborhood. We stayed here for 5 nights as a "couple" and LOVED it. The location is good as there are lots of buses on the door step which take you all round the city. After 8 1/2 Mths travelling with no probs we were MUGGED 100 yards from the hostel at 2pm in the afternoon by 15 street kids, despite my being a large, fit skinhead! The police said the area is VERY BAD and the street kids are organised. This hostel is brilliant. The staff are so friendly and make an effort to get to know each person. The location is great for going out at night and the lapa party on Friday night is amazing. I found the common area great for meeting people and the staff organise plenty of nights out to the samba...

The staff are very friendly, hard working and helpful. The common area/s are spacious making it easy to meet fellow travellers. Its location is central - there are buses near by making it easy to get to all that Rio has to offer. Best value for money in town!

If your looking for a more bohemian and authentic neighbourhood to stay, in a place where you can have fun with Brazilians and people from all around the world, in other words not looking for the standard party hostel, this is the place to be. Loads of fun even when on a small budget!

This is a really friendly hostel, great for meeting people and getting the most out of the Rio party atmosphere - a short bus journey from the beaches and right next to the Friday night Lapa street parties. The staff are great and show you where to go

This hostel was great. A really good communal area so you get to know everyone else in the hostel really easily. The staff are really helpful and can give you advice on anything you need to know. Is an excellent location for Lapa as well, which is a must on a Friday night. Cannot fault it at all.

Very nice people - hard working and helpful.... the area is a nice proximity from the center and many buses pass the main street. (if possible try and catch the 136 bus to the hostel instead of their taxi service -its only 2.10 r$.) the breakfast is kinda bland (toast n tea/coffee). All in all -...

probably the best hostel i have ever stayed in, brill staff who are fun and helpful and a great atmosphere, its also about half the price of most hostels in rio. We extended our stay here by 4 nights!

Jorge the owner was very helpfull, he booked all of our trips, he was very concerned about our safety in Rio and gave us lots of tips on staying safe. The hostel is the cheapest around, the rooms are very spacious and clean. In all a very good hostel. une adresse que l on voudrait garder secretement... Tres tres bien situe, une auberge dans un batiment entierement renove avec de vrais douches bien chaudes et vraiment tout ce qu il faut pour passer un merveilleux sejour a rio. je devais rester que 2 jours et finalement j en ai fait 8 donc...

He organised many tours for us and brought us to a lovely place ´Zabor´ around the corner for lunch. We had a great time in Rio and would reccomend this hostel and are going back ourselves in a few days.close

Good hostel, nice location, friendly staff. The only thing we missed was a reception but the owner was quite often downstairs in the hostel so you had enough possibilities to ask things. He also gave good savety information for Rio.

At night, the area seemed a bit dangerous, we did not feel that much like hanging around outside... otherwise we can recommend that hostel for sure!!

This hostel was excellent. It was clean and had all the features that a backpacker needs. The staff were so helpful, and couldn´t have made me feel more at home. Definately recommended.

Ich bin zur Karnevalszeit da gewesen, deswegen würde ich sagen, dass es ein Ausnahmezustand war, aber ich war mit dem Hostel zufrieden und das Personal war bemerkenswert freundlich und hilfsbereit! geht ruhig hin :D

i stayed only one night and wished i could have stayed more!! a really cute hostel with a great feeling to it, everything was clean and ana and jorge extremley helpful. right near the lapa arches, easy to get to.would def recommend this hostel and plan to stay there next time im in rio!

i have just stayed at Brazil hostel for carnival 08. I would highly recommend this hostel. It is very near lapa and Santa tersa which is beautiful. The metro is a ten minute walk and everything is accesible from there. It was very clean, friendly and had a great atmosphere.
