By all means avoid the double room, it is just a bunkbed in a cupboard in the noisy backyard, next to the laundry where the staff spend the day doing nothing. What this place really lacks is managements, to tell staff they should be more considered to the guests, who, after all, pay their salaries. But, I insist, the girls at the reception are great.close

The rooms and bathrooms were kept amazingly clean, and the doubles are wonderful! We also stayed in the 9 bed dorm one night, and it was pretty small (as was the other dorms) and right across from the reception area, but this is reflected in the price. Everyone does get a security locker. The...

When they sell you a double--and then you find out it the room is 6 x 7 ft, how would you feel? Secuirty guard did not know how to get hot water early. 1 Key for 2 people--I guess you be warden!

People from other hostels were coming here and saying it was great and it was quite good; the staff were helpful. I gave up on breakfast after day 1, it just wasn't worth getting up for. Also, the football tours are way overpriced, just do it yourself.

Close to the Metro (important in Rio), bathrooms noticeably clean (for a hostel), very friendly staff who go out of their way to answer questions. And the spider monkeys really do come down to the patio at breakfast.

The staff were helpful and warming. I would recommend the hostel, however, there are some improving points: - set less people per room(12 in a small one) - try to have hot water in the bathroom (some days there were no hot water)

This was a fantastic hostel to saty in- clean, friendly, attractive and a good location. The only downsides were the size of the rooms (very small) and showers thats did not always work! However, one of the best hostels I have stayed in with the most helpful, lovely staff you will ever meet.
