They helped us sort out many of our days trips whixh was brilliant. They alsop showed us the night life in Rio by inviting us all out which we thought was really good. We would say that when it was rainy we couldn´t chill and watch a bit of tele as a guy was generally sleeping on the sofa - but...

Not a very good area to stay during the slow season unless you feel like taking a cab or bus whenever you feel like going somewhere. The staff was bilingual, which was nice, except they tried to charge my group for a football game that we never went to. The walls are paper thin and the rooms are smaller than a jail cell. I don´t recommend this place anyone, especially if you´re trying to find a bargain...not worth the money.close

Friendly staff but the rest was below average. Room & ensuite stank because no ventialtion, toilet bin not emptied daily, electric shower broke daily but the 8am noise from construction nextdoor was unbearable. The communal WC may be better & the building should be over in a few months.

Nice hostel, the staff were friendly. Rooms quite small with no windows! Near to the metro and bus stops but theres not much else going on in Botafogo but it is in walking distance of the sugar loaf.

If you're looking for a small, stuffy, noisy, overpriced double room with poor ventilation, a musty odour and no windows, then look no further. Not the best way to experience Rio.

Great hostel! Exactly what we wanted. It is quiet, uneventful, safe, and in the absolute perfect location. The staff, especially Barbara, are among the best we´ve encountered. If you want a nice cheap bed in a clean safe place so you can go out and have fun, this is the place.

The kitchen was locked half the time so if you wanted to get something out of the fridge or make something you had to ask to get it opened- i don,t know if it,s like that all the time. It felt like a dungeon or a prison the way it was set up, the rooms have no windows to the outside and the airconditioning didn,t work and was soo noisy at night. The only good thing was it was so close to the subway- but other than that it has no character at all.close

Hostel location is very convenient... a minute away from buses and metro between Copacabana and Central. Not much action at night but enough activity in neighbourhood to feel safe. Rooms are quiet and air conditioned, staff friendly and helpful.

The dorms have no windows and thus no air circulating, the entire place is poorly lit and feels like a prison. The management try to extract money from you at every available opportunity. They charge R$5 per hour for internet where other places have it for free. The extortionate prices of their drinks are made worse because they dont allow drinks (soft or alcohol) in the hostel apart from those bought there. During carnaval they organised nothing for us, unlike the other hostels in the area. Stay somewhere else! Easy Hostel was nicer.close

First of all, if it wasn´t for the STAFF, this place wouldn´t be a very cool place to stay. I´ve stayed at tons of hostels before, but this one feels overly like a dungeon, so it´s not ideal for a long-term stay. After 3 days, you start to feel like you´re in a dungeon, especially upstairs in the double beds where you can´t see the sun at all. So you´re willing to sacrifice basic amenities to be surrounded by good, knowledgable staff. But when we came back the 2nd time around, the staff we so enjoyed were gone. A pity, because they´re the ones who made the place worth staying. The location is great, although there are other hostels right around the corner in a quieter area that benefit from being near buses and the metro. It´s very clean, or clean as it can be cleaned. There´s just no windows at all, and it´s so expensive, but if there´s nowhere else to stay, this would be the default. The best thing about the place is that it has WIFI. Free!! Internet like anywhere else in Brasil is expensive, so this free WIFI is a relief... I think the STAFF makes a difference. The second time around, it was just not the same fun vibe. There´s a difference of feel when you know the people behind the hostel knows what it likes to travel. And this time around, the hostel had an empty feeling...like what´s the most minimal we can give for the most amount of money. My suggestion is to stay at a hostel that really helps you enjoy your time in the city.close
