A great hostel in the middle of Ipanema only a short walk to the beach and bars. Excellent staff too and good common areas.

Well what can I say, a pleasant surprise. The location was great with the beach only 5 minutes walk away, a number of cafe's and restaurants just round the corner and a taxi rank just outside the hotel. The location was great with the beach only 5 minutes walk away, a number of cafe's and restaurants just round the corner and a taxi rank just outside the hotel. The staff were very friendly most noticeably Dan (the ladies man), Marcella and Roberta. The only downsides of this place were the shared bathrooms (sometimes I had to queue), the cold shower and the small size of some of the rooms. Other than that I had a great stay at Yaya Rio.close

lovely hostel, big rooms and friendly staff in a good safe location. only down point was that there was never any hot water in the shower.

Very basic accomodation and more of a B&B than a hostel. Expected more for the money but it seems to be market rates, Rio is an expensive City. Breakfast was well appreciated! well designed simple hotel. friendly staff, safe feeling area. great for a couple perhaps a bit quiet if you are lookng to meet other people.

Very good location,simple rooms could have better lighting ( read , ambience ) miss curtins with black out. Good breakfast.

The breakfast rocks, location is perfect.If you are looking for a good nights sleep you will find it here! Its not a hostel, its more like a home away from home.

Cleanist hostel I've ever stayed in. It's like staying in an upmarket appartment! Highly recommend this place
