I loved my stay at Rio Surf n Stay. The staff is great and very welcoming. I couldnt ask for anything better. I recommend this hostel to everyone. cheers.

This was one of the best hostels i have ever stayed in worldwide. The owners were a fabulous couple who taught us how to surf and made sure our stay was perfect. The owners were a fabulous couple who taught us how to surf and made sure our stay was perfect. The hostel lies right next to the most beautiful beach. I would recommend this hostel to anyone. It was extremely clean, the atmosphere was brilliant, the staff were incredible and the location was perfect. For two girls travelling in South America we felt so safe in the surrounding area. Simply cannot fault it, cant wait to go back.close

The hostel has a fantastic atmosphere, Katrina and Mauro make you feel at home. The location is great because you get to see the real Rio in a safe environment and the nearby beaches are great and much less crowded than the downtown beaches. The locals were incredibly helpful. Excellent. Went there to chill after the rio carnival and had a really relaxing couple of days. beautiful beaches and really friendly people. the owners are great, really helpful and really looked after us and cooked great food. also the surf lessons are great fun! Jo and Laura, england

This is a great hostel if you want to surf and relax / sunbathe as only 2 mins walk from a lovely surf beach. The hosts are lovely and the rooms nice and spacious. The location is not good if you plan to spend lots of time in central Rio though as you need to leave 1.5hrs by bus to get in to... more This is a great hostel if you want to surf and relax / sunbathe as only 2 mins walk from a lovely surf beach. The hosts are lovely and the rooms nice and spacious. The location is not good if you plan to spend lots of time in central Rio though as you need to leave 1.5hrs by bus to get in to town (took us between 1hr and 2hrs each time we went in). The buses are v frequent and direct to useful places though, e.g. Copacabana/Ipanema/the bus terminal so easy, just not quick.close
