the people at the hostel were very friendly and helpful. We surely enjoyed our stay there. It felt like a home away from home.

The rooms are in a lovely part of the house and you feel like you're in a family home rather than a hostel. The walk up the hill is a killer and you have to catch a tube into Copacobana, but Flamingo beach is near by. Not in the party part of town.

Nice quiet place to get to grips with the sometimes intense Rio. Dag and Mabella were always ready to help. and they serve a great breakfast

We really enjoyed staying here. Patricia made us very welcome and even arranged our carnaval tickets for us. It has all the facilities. A very good hostel to stay at if you are fit and can manage the hill!!! A nice neighbour hood too with everything you want.

Good for adventurers, who prefer Rio "centro" rather than "zona sul". Charming old property - however bathroom situation can be improved.
