Located on noisy corner - major arterial road on one side, and pubs on the other, fine if weather's cool enough to keep windows closed, but rooms stuffy and hot in summer and with windows open was a challenge to sleep. Big let down here is... more is staff - Riga was our last stop on long travel through Eastern Europe, stayed in hotels of comparable quality and always had helpful and friendly staff. Monte Kristo staff were rude and surly. Shame. close ”

  “ Hotel was not as good as the pictures, we were put in a seedy l shaped room, that was quoted as 55 euros (£48) per night which seems very reasonable. However when i came to pay the bill they wanted 55 lats per night (£78.50). So it cost me £150 extra over the 5 nights. This left a bad taste in... more taste in my mouth as the staff were pretty rude when i questioned this. I would not go back and i will pursue the hotel for this money. close ”

  “ We were first given a room on the ground floor next to the main entrance - not too nice and very noisy. Luckily we were able to move to another more calm room. It was much smaller and had no window at all, though. ”

  “ It's a nice budget hotel in the old part of Riga. The location is really excellent since you're very much in the centre of everything. Rooms are somewhat small but okay. There are just two things to criticize: The hotel staff speaks very bad English. So conversation was sometimes really difficult... more difficult and they didn't really clean the rooms while we stayed there (total 5 days). They just made the beds, but didn't clean the bathroom. Nevertheless I would stay there again. close ”
