1A fairly impresonal hotel which is walking distance to the centre of Riga. You can also catch a tram which goes right by the hotel. Be careful of taxis in Riga. We had an incident. We ordered a taxi from the hotel to the airport. The taxi which arrived was a Mercedes Benz taxi and not the... more A fairly impresonal hotel which is walking distance to the centre of Riga. You can also catch a tram which goes right by the hotel. Be careful of taxis in Riga. We had an incident. We ordered a taxi from the hotel to the airport. The taxi which arrived was a Mercedes Benz taxi and not the normal Red Riga taxi. When we asked the taxi driver about the cost we were told it was to be a metered trip. When we arrived it the airport the cost of the taxi journey was 25 Lats instead of the 7 - 15 Lats a normal Red Riga taxi costs. Lesson --> catch Red Riga taxis. (Not sure if the hotel is involved in this at all but it was dodgy.)close
