It was winter and very cold in the room. That was the only negative thing, plus the dirty dishes in the kitchen were disgusting. Thank you!

The only good thing about the place is the location. The rest is Soviet-like pretending to be modern. The rooms are tidy and quite spacious but very drafty. In our 1st room which was 202 (keep out), the ceiling and the lamp were vibrating creating a persistent noise which made sleep impossible.... more

this was not we were expecting. Part of an old Stalinist hotel, great cheap breakfasts, hotel rooms minus television and telephone. Free sauna and pool each morning, and walking distance to everything in town. would I recommend it, yes most definately

The location was just PERFECT! All in all I felt like I was staying in an ok hotel instead of a hostel. There was a little bit of dust or something like that in our sheets, but otherwise the room was clean. I would definetely stay here again.

This place was a real find. Essentially staying in a hotel (Hotel Riga) and paying far less than the other guests. You don't get all the services and amenities, but the location is fantastic.

Located in 4 star Hotel Riga nearby train and bus station. Free WiFi although you can only use the provided password once a day. Walls are thin so it can be noisy when guests come home after a night of boozing. Tv in common area. Shower and tap can be a bit smelly, so wouldn't recommend drinking... more

It's actually on the 3rd floor of the Hotel Riga, so rather than a hostel it,s a converted hotel floor. Rooms and location are great though and there's a free washing machine.

Perfect location: in the center and 5 min walk from the coach station. Bit loudy if party goes on in the nearby streets. Very nice building, think it was a posh hotel before. Would definitely go there again!

A 3/4 star hotel with 1 1/2 floors as hostel. Room was very large, beds comfortable. Bathroom it's a little scary (very old fashion toilet, seemed to belong to 1940s and tiny tub) but in all good value for the money, excellent location and free storage of lugguage.

Strangely seems to be a floor of the 4* Riga Hotel that just was not renovated. Great rooms at a great price, and an apple with your name on it, on the pillow when you arrive.... What could be better!

This was really a hotel. It is in the same building as a much fancier hotel, and seems to have no staff of its own. It feels a bit dead. Having said that, the location was fantastic, the rooms are nice, and the kitchen is very good. I would definitely stay there again, but it's not somewhere...

This is NOT a hostel. It is the Hotel Riga, a huge, old style Soviet pile. It does have a great location and the rooms are quite nice. There's not even a sign to indicate the "green Apple even exists. And no wi-fi per advertized. Just beware. It is still a good deal.
