Whether it´s the hustle and bustle of the city or the peace and quiet of the country you´re after, at Reykjavík City Hostel you can enjoy the best of both worlds. We´re situated in the Laugardalur Park, the city´s mains recreation area, and nextdoor to the national football stadium, the botanical gardens, and the biggest geothermal swimming pool in Reykjavík. A clean hostel with good services and helpfully and (mostly) knowledgeable staff. Ability to book and pay for tours at the hostel is excellent and there's a well stocked kitchen and common room. Only draw backs in location (a 10min bus ride or taxi from centre of town) and wifi wouldn't work on... more

Great place to stay! A little bit out of town, but then again, the walk into town is amazing! Love Iceland, want to go back as soon as possible. The guys here made it really easy!

Having the pool next door is great, but, sadly, it is pretty far from the city center and even the downtown area. The staff is all really helpful and awesome, though, so if you don't mind a half hour - forty minute walk, then this place is perfect!

Probably the best located hostel in Reykjavik, just a short bus ride from the center. its right next to a really great athletic center and they provide great accomadations, and many excursions. Not really a place to find others to party with.

Very nice place to stay. My only critique is that it is a ways from the downtown zone/city centre. It's no big deal, though, as bus passes are cheap enough and Jetbus and all the other buses pass by.

Had an excellent stay. As others have doubtless mentioned, location is not super-central -- but worth keeping in mind that Reykjavik is a small city and the walk into the town center is very pleasant.

We found the city hostel a very nice place to stay, namely because of its cleaness, low prices and vivant atmospere. We highly recommand this place, though the location could be closer to the centre of the city in order to go on a small evening walk. Best regards, Amanda and Sara, Denmark

Fantastic hostel, very nice facilities and staff were great. the only problem was beyond their control and that was that the Bus into town only runs every 30 mins and after around 7pm only runs once an hour so sometimes it was difficult to go into town and back!

Nice rooms and beds, but the hostel was a ways from the city center and when the last bus out there leaves at around 11:30pm, you will either have a long walk back to the hostel in the wee hours of the morning, or pay 1400 isk for a taxi, so have some spare cash on hand if you plan on going out.
