Description of Guesthouse Egilsborg

Guesthouse Egilsborg is located in a quiet street in the centre of Reykjavík. The guesthouse is only a 3 minute walk from the main shopping street Laugavegur as well as a swimming pool and a bus terminal. The guesthouse has 17 rooms which are single, double or family. A wash basin is in every room and on each floor are a bathroom and a shower. Guests have access to a sitting room with TV.

  “ We arrived at this place at 2.30 am, looking forward to a good nights sleep after a long journey, having booked well in advance. Howeverm we were told by the young man on duty "sorry we have no rooms, there was a mistake in the booking...go and find a party to go to and come back in a few... more few hours and we might have a room". We went and found somewhere else to stay, at much greater cost to ourselves. Do not go near this place. close ”

  “ This place has a real family atmosphere. The strange thing is that when you arrive, there is usually no-one so you have to call the number displayed on the door and then in a few minutes the owner arrives. The location is close to downtown, although some 10-15 minute walk from the bus station.... more station. The single rooms they give you are very very small, which is OK, but also there was a strong ventillation sound which meant that I had to use earplugs. close ”
