I stayed here for 3 full days and every morning I was doing side day trips… Day 1(friday):I visited the brazilian side of the falls(Parque Foz do Iguacu) Day 2(saturday):I visited San Ignacio Ruins Day 3(sunday):I spent all day walking in the argentinian side of the falls, the Iguazu National Park. The city was peaceful enough with tree lined streets, easy going people everywhere but the humidity was high enough to set me back in the hostel after my excursions to the falls.close

Falls worth it all though, unbelievable!close

Visit Esteros del Ibera nature reserve for a much quiter look at the wildlife. As for the Iguazu waterfalls, an incredible experience highlighting the raw power of nature at it´s finest, arrive early to sit among the falls without the crowds. Be sure to visit both sides of the falls, preferably the Brazilian side first for a panoramic view of the park. Take the local bus to the Argentinian side, instead of a tour, for AR$4. Excellent restaurants available in the centre with a little research.close

I've never been to the Amazones but I felt that "jungle" feeling in Puerto Iguazu. The place itself has no interest at all, it's hot, ugly and the only reason to be there is to go see the waterfalls. 12Norma is the NICEST lady that anyone will ever meet. The hostel was cozy and comfortable. I actually laid on the roof and suntanned for 4 hours. Make sure that you bring an extra pair of shoes that you dont care about if you stay when it rains to walk to the bus and back.

We just had a great stay at la Strada. The staff was really kind and the room simple but large and pleasant. A hotel I would recommend

Puerto Canoas 86%
Puerto Canoas is a good solid hostel. Its clean, the beds are good, showers are hot, and its in the town, but on a quiet street. Our only complaint was the room smelled of mothballs when we arrived. Liked the free water up front.

4Hostels near the centre of town and has a good courtyard with plenty of hammocks. Our room was clean and tidy with air conditioning which was a bonus. The internet was free but a little temperamental but no time limit so you could be waiting for a long time if it is working. Would stay again.

Marcopolo Inn Iguazu 82%
This Hostel was great. The only thing was that due to the poor internet access, we did not get to book our next hotel before we left and did not get our 40 pesos deposit back as we were too worried about our booking then had to leave in a hurry for the plane.
