There are spectacular caves in this area - really spectacular caves, and an (apparently) stunning castle. However, if you want to see them you have to drive unless you want to walk for a long way. We missed out on the castle because there was no way of getting there other than by car - no buses or anything - and it was a 10km walk. The walk to the best caves was substantial and beside a main road. The actual town is very small and not interesting. |

We stayed one night in Postojna solely to visit the (amazing) caves before moving onto Croatia. Not much to do other than the caves. Other sightseeing activities difficult to get to except by car. |
