One of the best hostels i've been to on my trip by a mile. After 2 days i felt like i had been there for 2 months! Very Friendly atmosphere, was like being at home. Highly recomended!!!!

Me and my girlfriend were staying there for a few days and we had a great time. The place is clean and well organized. The staff are very friendly, helping with everything they can. It is an awesome place I recomend it to everyone.

Tony runs a fantastic hostel here. He is a very special guy who genuinely cares about all the people who stay with him and the place itself, he is renovating it and really looks after the place. There is a lot right about this hostel but the best thing is undoubtably the owner/manager, Tony. He is just a quality bloke and will help you out in anyway he can e.g. pick up from the bus terminal. The rooms, kitchen area and bathrooms were all spotless and there is free internet if you don't mind waiting a little bit. You can hire bikes, fishing equipment and body boards. The only thing I would say is that some lockers would be good. The rooms do have locks but if you are traveling on your own this can still leave you feeling a bit vulnerable. Still passports etc. can be locked up at reception for peace of mind. This is the best backpackers in town!close

The staff in this hostel are very helpful and make you feel at home. Vera and Nathan spend alot of time with you, giving useful information about the surrounding areas. The rooms are spacious and clean, it was good to get a good nights sleep here after coming from Sydney.

I loved that this place was very clean, bathrooms spotless. We stayed on a sunday and monday night and the town was dead! Good luck trying to find dinner, everything closes at random times and are only open on random days. That part of port macquairie was very inconvenient. i really enjoyed my stay at the port mac backpackers. tony the manager is so nice and i had the best sleep EVER in those very thick mattress! breaky is nice, too :) thx for everything!

The whole place has a very homely atmosphere and you feel very welcome. The manager shows interest in what you are doing and it really seemed like he enjoyed having backpackers in his house. The dorms were comfortable and big.

Fab hostel which everyone travelling the East Coast should make a stop at. The owner is a great guy who makes you feel immediately at home. Free internet, tea and coffee, DVD's, pool table and 24hour kitchen and TV room. What more could a backpacker ask for? Best hostel I have visited in...

Big Tony (the owner) definitely makes this place worthwhile. He's one of the most helpful and friendly hostel owners you'll find on the east coast of Australia! The place has great character, and it was nice to be able to access the internet for free for once. It's perhaps a bit on the pricier...

Tony's place was absolutely fabulous. He picked us all up from the bus stop, then as soon as he got us all checked in, took everyone who wanted to go down to the beach and to check out some wild kangaroos, which was sweet. I would reccommend in a heartbeat. Great place.

Brilliant hostel, the best we've stayed at. Genuinely helpful staff, clean and fun hostel. Makes a very welcome change not to think you're being ripped off by the hostel. Free internet and pool table was great! Would definitely stay here again if we come back to Port Macquarie!

awesome place, very relaxing stay here. Tony's awesome and will tell you what tours to do and not to do. he treats you like a person, not just another 'hotel' guest. luved the hammocks and bean bag chairs in the tv room.

It was about a 20min walk from town centre, but that was ok and pick-ups from/drop-offs at the bus station were done as a matter of course. There is also a supermarket across the road. Tony (the owner) was really friendly and helpful tho and the general atmosphere was nice. I would stay there again.close

a great hostel - we stayed for a couple of nights in a dorm en route to byron bay and the owner tony was incredibly helpful. full of good advice, he also manages to clean the hostel daily. a great atmosphere, very friendly, very sociable - nice one tony!

Had a nice stay in this little, friendly hostel. Our double room was absolutley tiny with nowhere to put our stuff (eg, hooks etc) but the TV room more than made up for it with lots of comfy seats and DVD's to watch.
