Located deep in the midlands of Ireland, yet only an hour and twenty minutes drive from Dublin - evidence of Ireland's wonderfully accessible size - it has a fair bit of local traffic as well as travellers heading further afield. While the selection of bars and restaurants may be somewhat limited, their quality certainly makes up for their quantity. For a hearty lunch try The Square Cafe, or for an evening meal the award-winning Kingfisher restaurant is not to be missed. If you're looking for a few days of relaxation The Heritage Hotel is the place to stay. While it's grand exterior colonnade may slightly exaggerate the hotels interior, you're sure not to be disappointed by the luxuries offered within. The hotel is clean and quiet, the staff are friendly and efficient and the hotel's three restaurants, two bars, cafe and leisure centre make the hotel a holiday destination in itself. Ideal for those looking for a romantic getaway or a family break within a short distance from Dublin.close
