We were amazed by the quality of this hostel, it was well equipped and was within easy walking distance of shops, restaurants and the sea.

2We had a wonderful stay, Peter was so helpful and gave us advice about all the things we wanted to do. I really enjoyed the pool and the bbq area.

Port O' Call YHA 83%
This was a very nice hostel. Walking distance to the main street of Port Douglas, a very nice place, highly recommend it over Cairns. The rooms were clean, kitchen facility was adequate. Would definitely stay here again.

– posted on Dec 2007 1A few problems -They added charges for 2 children's linen AUS$75 - despite the fact they knew we are 4 right from the start. They also tried to charge us as we arrived and this sounded too much so we waited until we were about to leave and by that time we had looked out the original quote....

Port Central Motel 76%
Brilliant location, clean, and the wheels on the twin beds certainly make it entertaining, could really do with locks to stop them rolling about! was like sleeping on a rollar skate! But would still recommend it!

– posted on Jun 2008 2This motel is ideally situated in Port Douglas. The rooms were spotless and had en suite, television, a small fridge plus tea/coffee making equipment. If you're just looking for a place to crash at night and plan to eat out then I'd recommend this motel. It was good value for money.

Port Douglas is the gateway to the Great Barrier Reef and you can't go to this part of Oz without checking it out. Some great boat trips run from Port Douglas and take you snorkelling, scuba diving...whatever you fancy. Beginner scuba diving is possible too and you can choose between full or half day tours. Highly recommend the full day so you get to see it...
