Founded as a mill on the Zambra brook, the ancient Molendino is set very close to the Calci Charterhouse, dated 1366, that from then up until 1972 sheltered the Carthusian order. Only 10 km from Pisa city (15 min drive), 9 km from Pisa 'G. Galilei' airport. 'Molendino' stands in the impressive natural theatre of Calci, and is bordered by the wonderful stone walls of Nicosia abbey; it is very close to the towns of Pisa and Lucca, as well as the Tirrenian sea. A place isolated and protected by the Pisan mountains, easy to reach by car and bike. An ideal starting point to discovery many particular areas of Tuscany ( Florence can be reached in half an hour by train, and in a very short time it is possible to get to the wonderful beach in Marina di Vecchiano). 'Molendino' is the perfect place for exploring walks and rides in the territory around, through streams and paths, to villages, mills, fortresses, churches, castles, with simple or more engaging trails. The olive trees field, the shady green garden, the large park - more than twenty thousand square meters - around the house surround this enchanted place that keeps a secret charm, out of time. In the simple and easy accommodation you will find the most pleasant and relaxing stay, filled of only the flow of your thoughts, of your comfort, in the quiet and silence. To 8 kms of distance from the airport in Pisa. Cancellation policy: 48h before arrival time. Credit cards accepted. Distances : Pisa airport 'G. Galilei' (9 km) Pisa (10 Km) Lucca (14 km) Firenze (45 minuti di treno) Livorno (15 km) Marina di Pisa (16 km) Marina di Vecchiano (25 km) Tirrenia (25 km) Calafuria (25 km) Vicopisano (5 km) Buti (10 km) Volterra (1 hour by car) San Gimignano (75 km)

A car definitely required, perfect for family or couples. The owner was extremely helpful and friendly. She recommended a great resturant to get dinner, much appreciated.

A beautiful place to stay in the idyllic Tuscan countryside. The hostel owners were beyond helpful and were incredibly nice, making our stay one to remember. Thank you & we'll be back soon!

This is by far the best value for money we ever got. You are welcomed into the house by Fabiola, Stefano and their wonderful family. I have never felt so welcome. The breakfasts are to die for with cherries from their own luscious, green wonderfol garden. Local specialties. Great Winelist. My only regret is that we did not stay more nights. We will come again. /Marcus & Carine of Sweden.close

This place was very difficult for us to find. If you're driving, we'd recommend using a GPS because the street signs aren't very helpful. It was a lovely relaxing spot to stay though, and had a good restaurant & gelateria nearby.

An amazing place to stay! If you are going to Pisa dont stay in the town stay here! About 20 mins from the town by bus (to Calci), you'll have a great experience. Very welcoming, the highlight of our trip!

Very romantic accommodation in a beautiful environment. Dear people. A little problem finding the way by car, but the landscape around Pisa was beautiful. We recommend to all. We see the map, otherwise you will have problems finding hotel.

Stefano and Fabiola were the best! They are very helpful and welcoming. Il Molendino is a little difficult to get to by public transportation but definitely worth it. Make sure to take the Calci-Montemagno instead of just Calci.

We had a wonderful time at the bed and breakfast. Stephano and Fabiola were more than accomodating and very friendly. The location is off of the beaten path but you get a flavor for a small local town going to the hostel. The breakfast was excellent and room was super clean and cozy. The couple that run it are extremely kind This is a great place with a gorgeous landscape of the Italian countryside. I recommend this for a number of days if you are renting a car. Its not very convenient to downtown Pisa, we stayed a night between flights and paid 30 euro each way in taxi fares, I'm not too sure its accessible by public transit. It was the shortest/best place we stayed on our trip!close
