Yide Guesthouse is a beautifully renovated courtyard house built in 1736 by a wealthy merchant during the reign of Emperor Qianlong. The courtyard reflects the height of the Qing dynasty architectural achievement. The uppper house, the lower house, study room, inner garden, altar of ancestor and the stable for horse make up the intricate interior layout. Location The Guesthouse is situated deep in a quiet alleyway just a few minutes' walk from the main street Nan Dajie where you can do most of your shopping, checking out local eateries, and enjoy carefree walks in the afternoon. Rooms Our accommodations are mainly doubles, twins and triple rooms. All rooms have air-conditioning and hot water, private bath and large kang-style bed that are heated in winter which makes reading, and resting comfortable. Tourist Information The Qiao Family Courtyard House was the home of a powerful trading family with significant commercial influence even beyond Shanxi. It was in this mansion that Zhang Yimou's famous film 'Raise the Red Lantern' was filmed. Located some 40km north of Pingyao, the compound is fortified behind a 10m high wall. It is now one of the most popular tourist attractions in Pingyao. Another popular site is the Wang Family Courtyard House. This was the Wang clan's private residence and is four times larger than Qiao's, with 54 courtyards and 1,052 rooms. The mansion took over half a century to build and is located on a hilly area. The Yide Guesthouse property would be delighted to help you plan your Pingyao vacation by giving you information on how to most conveniently and cheaply experience the best that Pingyao has to offer. If you prefer to have a tour guide, we would be glad to provide you with one. On the other hand, if you prefer to travel independently, then we can advise you of the cheapest and most convenient ways to get to where you want to go. Pingyao is a very small, ancient town. Because of this, it is impossible to book hard or soft sleeper train tickets at the Pingyao Railway Station less than 10 days in advanced if you plan to book yourself. Train tickets from Pingyao to other cities such as Xi'an, Beijing, and Shanghai must be booked from the nearest large city, Taiyuan. The Yide Guesthouse Property can assist you in booking your train tickets from Pingyao to the destination of your choice. You are more than welcome to visit my family-style guesthouse and have a good time in Pingyao! Notice 　Pingyao is a small town, and there are no banks here. Remember to bring enough money with you. Also please note we do not accept credit cards. 　Tickets for trains from Pingyao to other cities are not easy to book. We can offer the service of booking tickets for you. Please let us know where and when you want to go 10 days in advance. 　

Please tell us the number of your train before you come to Pingyao and we can arrange a car to take you to our hotel from the train station.

This was actually a very nice hotel, clearly in a very old/historical building. Close to one of the city gates, clean and very spacious room and bed, plumbing that actually worked. The best place we stayed in while in China.

This really was an Excellent Hotel. The staff was very friendly and they spoke english very well. The rooms are beautifully decorated and very clean. This is the best place to stay in Pingyao

We had a very good time in Yide Hotel. The staff are amazing, they helped us with everything we needed. The Hotel is beautiful, the rooms are cleen and comfortable. it's really perfect!!!

Our stay at Yide Hotel has been a highlight of our trip in China. The communal facilities are gorgeous, the staff friendly and helpful, and our room was fantastic. I cannot recommend this place more highly!

An excellent choice for a quiet place removed from the main tourist areas. The old architecture and courtyards are wonderful, and the staff are exceedingly friendly and helpful. I'd definitely return to the Yide.

If you are going to Pingyao its worth staying a few nights in this beautiful traditional hotel.Wonderful rooms and excellent,friendly staff.We had a great stay here and would love to stay longer.
