A great little courtyard hostel in Pingyao, the manager Bob goes out of his way to make you feel welcome and comfortable. One of the nicer hostels I've stayed in, in China. A big thumbs up!!!

can't really comment on the hostel as we ended up getting taken to the one across the road (yemman hostel)which was fantastic, and found the right one only after we'd booked in there thinking it was the right one. We had a very nice time in Pingyao.The staff was very nice and always smiling and the owner was very helpful and attentive.He even organized our transfer to the bus station.Only negative point is that we were pressured to give a good review about the hostel before our departure which left us with... more We had a very nice time in Pingyao.The staff was very nice and always smiling and the owner was very helpful and attentive.He even organized our transfer to the bus station.Only negative point is that we were pressured to give a good review about the hostel before our departure which left us with mixed feelings about the good nature of our host.But the hostel honestly deserve its good rating, is well located and very cosy.We would recommend it to anybody visting Pingyao!close

Beautiful hostel. I had a lovely stay here: they gave me my own beautiful and warm room with en-suite and the staff were so lovely and absolutely hilarious. Perfect place to relax. Great hostel, nice old builging, think I had the largest bed I have ever slept in. Service was second to none. Nothing was a problem. Free pick up and drop off from train station and Bob even organised for our hostel in Xi'an to be there waiting for us at the bus stop. If you go to Pingyao, stay...

This hostel is really great! Location is excellent, nice and very helpful people (Bob is the best), delicious food and drinks, gorgeous Chinese architecture, free Internet, huge bed... best place to stay in Pingyao!

This place is so great! The people are so friendly and helpful! Bob helped us with booking our train and bus tickets and it really must have been a pain in the &$$ to sort it all out. Also, when my husband Dennis got ill he went to the doctors with him and helped with translation and advise!...

The manager, Bob and Helen were excellent and food was as good as anything to be found elsewhere in Pingyao. Hostel was also very warm whch was great for the time of year that I was visiting.

Till now, this is the best guesthouse we have stayed in. The staff is fantastic and during the evening you can play pool, watch a movie, read, use free internet, have a nice dinner or/and chat with other travellers. Don't forget the free Ballet theatre on the same evening you buy the all-in one ticket. This guesthouse is well worth to visit. It's great!close

This hostel was everything a traveler could ask for. Friendly staff, great food, and prime location. My room was always nice and warm, which was a plus because the weather outside was a bit cold.

Very nice staff who are very helpful! The atmosphere is nice and the building has a beautiful old chinese courtyard. Great location in town. Just stayed for two nights for relaxing and had a great time even though came alone.

The friendly helpful staff put this place over the top. They'll pick you up from the train station so make sure your phone has batteries. Mine did not. They'll also help you plan the next step of your trip.

The staff made me feel very welcome and are a lot of fun (if a bit nuts!) The bar's good with a pool table and table football and the ineternet is pretty quick

This hostel is fantastic! Bob and the staff are so kind and helpful. Bob went totally out of his way to book our bus to Xi'an and to get the bus drivers phone number to give to our hostel in Xi'an so they knew when to pick us up! Incredible! Thanks bob for everything!

Very fun and friendly staff here. Ming is a funny man! Bob speaks very good English, and is very helpful with advice for accomodations and travel to other towns in the area. Highly recommded. Play a little pool, and stay awhile.

The 0430 pickup from the train station was brilliant, as was being allowed in the room straight away to sleep. The staff are lovely, really helpful and the room we were in had loads of character. A very relaxing pleasant place to stay.

We stayed in a double bed with attached bathroom, and we felt this was a room with lots of value. The staff are friendly and helpful and our only gripes was poor television reception and slightly clogged toilet. Besides that, this rates as one of the best places we have stayed in China...:)

wonderful room with so much character. Value for money was fantastic and everythign was done to help us, from very cheap bike hire to a very last minute, free station pick-up. We have been able to completely relax here.

This hostel was amazing. The location is excellent and the staff goes above and beyond to make sure that you are happy and everything is taken care of. If you plan on stopping in Pingyao, I would strongly suggest this hostel. You will not be disappointed.
