really nice place. really helpful staff. not the best rooms but the character, location, security and freebreakfast make it really worthwhile while staying in lima. great tv and free internet too!

the hostel was fine but the double room next to the kitchen is INFESTED with bed bugs...im not lying and im not trying to be mean...i have bed bug bites all over my body that began the day after we slept in the bed and i didnt stop getting bit until i left and washed all my clothes..please...

stay in Lima at this place, location wise its the best, close to shops, beach, friendly staff. thanks Gaby and Marcos for looking after me! They offer free taxi ride if two days or more from the airport, beat that!

This is wonderful place to stay. Staff will take very good care of you. Hostel offers free pick up from airport which was great and they have an excellent location in a very safe part of town. Highly recommended. Plus they have a sister hostel in Cusco which is also very good.

Having stayed at a few hostels in Lima we rate this one poorly because the room we stayed in on our first night (we arrived early) had a very dirty carpet (not vacumned). It also faced onto a busy road which was noisy at night. Hot showers were irregular if ever and staff were not that helpful, with the exception of the 2 ladies who worked there.close

It is always nice to come to Samay Wasi. The staff makes one feels welcome relaxed and comfortable. THe location is safe and within the reach of the supermarket and other areas. I feel quite at home here and the staff remembered me from previous visits.

The Best. Free Airport Pickup when you stay onlz 2 days. If you stay only one day it cost 6$ and that is cheap. In Lima you pay 10-25$ for a airport taxi. Very friendly and helpful.

Overall this is a really nice place to stay with friendly, helpful staff. The best bit is being able to cook in the small but well equipped kitchen (there's a massive supermarket across the road), and being able relax in the lounge. It's good for stays of a few days or more, as is only 5 mins from Miraflores and is v easy to get a bus into downtown Lima. On the downside, they forgot to pick us up from the airport, and on the first night we stayed in a musty room which felt like belonged to an older brother who was away somewhere (toiletries on shelves, jackets in cupboards). But then we moved into the proper hostel rooms which had comfy beds and warm showers. Make sure you have earplugs though because there was some idiot playing their radio loudly til 3am every night we were there.close

The hostel was cozy, but there was no hot water both days I was there even though they advertised hot water 24 hours. Very close to Miraflores which is a gorgeous part of Lima. Bathroom very clean; like being a guest in a house.

This hostel was in an excellent location... right across the street from a huge grocery store and within walking distance of all of the worthwhile locations in Miraflores. The staff was friendly and helped us to schedule a taxi to the airport when we needed one. Also everyone seemed to have a... more This hostel was in an excellent location... right across the street from a huge grocery store and within walking distance of all of the worthwhile locations in Miraflores. The staff was friendly and helped us to schedule a taxi to the airport when we needed one. Also everyone seemed to have a decent understanding of both English and Spanish, which was nice. We had a very late flight out and even though we had already checked out they let us hang out and use the internet, the common areas and keep our bags there until we had to leave. The ¨free airport pickup¨ was free except for the $1 charge from the airport parking lot, (not a big deal). We had a shared bathroom where the exterior lock from our room to the bathroom didn't work. Not knowing our neighbors this made us nervous to leave things in our room. Our room was not very clean. The sheets didn't appear to have been washed and the floor was not very clean. Overall our experience was pleasant.close

Friendly and very helpful staff, in a great area within walking distance of everything of interest in Miraflores. Buses to central Lima leave from right outside the hostel, and there is a huge supermarket just across the street.

overall real nice place. only hesitation we have is that when we arrived the lady told us there were no dorm beds available, so had to pay double price, later found out from guy on later shift that there were beds available. he kindly (and rightly so)allowed us to change rooms and therefore pay less
