Loud construction work from 9am. Loud yappy dog has regular barking fits. Dorm is like a tomb and very dimly lit. Plaster rains from the ceiling when people walk on the floor above. Place attracts mainly couples and over-50s so don't expect a riot..

The breakfasts were great because you could eat as much toast as you wanted. I would stay here again, but only in a private room.close

The old Penang guesthouse was great! It was clean and tidy and the guy in charge was really friendly and helpful. You get toast and tea/coffee for breakfast and a nice area to meet other travellers. Shared bathrooms are fine. Highly recommended!

Nice guesthouse with free breakfast. I stayed in the dorm, which is a huge room for only 8 beds.

This is the nicest, cleanest hostle ever. You should see the rooms! Hotel standard, and so cheap RM35 for single room if hostles had stars this one would get 6. Highly recommend.

This place is great value. Only 1 dbl has ensuite but others have no windows. Doesn't matter as place is so clean & everything is new. Hostel has great character & a nice feel to it. Would def stay here again. Free (simple) b/fast & water is a bonus.

Great old building with a lot of atmosphere. It must be one of the best places to stay in Penang. Everything is brand new. It's a quiet place right in the backpacker centre.
