This pl was full of character and the guy there was so helpful and gave you heaps of handy tips. The rooms are basic but it's all quite arty and quirky - we had a good stay there and would recommend it!

The hostel was average on the whole but the thing that mad it poor was the amount of bugs in the room and the size of the rooms were also very small. We had a double bed and a small bit of floor space to put our bags, not much room to move around

Really, the absolute minimum for a hostel. The location is good, but the beds are very hard - just a thin mattress on the floor. No internet and unfriendly attitude from the staff.

The rooms are very basic but very clean. The matrasses may be thin, but didn't prevent me from having a good night's sleep. The rhythmic beats of a not too close club could be an issue if you have a light sleep but this might be also true for other places in this area. The owner is very helpful and the location within Georgetown is great.close

Quite appropriate, therefore, that it adjoins a large Chinese funeral parlour. The 'rooms' are basically steel & wooden framed cages with a padlock. Dorm beds are just placed in an alcove on the first floor landing. There are 2 toilet/showers which could do with a good coat of paint and bleach.Bring your own toilet paper and sink plug. I originally booked in for 3 nights in a single room. However, the first night (Saturday) there was a constant 'boom. boom' noise from a nearby dance club that lasted until 4am. That was followed at 6am by a Mullah calling the faithful to prayer. Believing it to be just a weekend thing, I stayed a seconnd night to have the same dance music, until well past 2am. Also, there were several young men from Singapore, whom I doubt were bona fide 'travellers. They were talking amonst themselves until after 2am. The Singapore conference resumed at 6am!! After 2 nights of the sleep deprivation course I had had enough! I checked out and moved on. It did though illustrate one of the basic principles of economics; you get what you pay for. I will never return.close

It does not fit the typical hostel layout that you find in Europe and other westernized cities. The place feels more like a warehouse than a hostel. The bedrooms are 8-10 square foot alcoves with narrow doors secured by padlock. The bed is a mat on a raised platform. A fan and mosquito net were provided. The bathroom had only a few western toilets, but considering the low traffic through the place it's not a problem. The place certainly isn't luxurious, but it's not a bad alternative when other places are unavailable or too spendy. The one perk was the reception attendant was very helpful with maps and suggestion of where to eat and how to arrange onward travel.close

Go for it if you're roughing it, crash a night or two with a sleeping mask and earplugs, but don't book a double bed. all the beds are thin foam on a wooden base, and the mosquito net was too small for the double. rough it, for sure. but know that it's gonna be a rough night's sleep!close

Character, fun and staff all get the good reviews purely on the strength of the man Kenny! Security is the best I've seen in a hostel, it's like a pleasant, friendly prison. Location is spot on and no problems with the cleanliness either.

Staff didn't seem to know what they were doing. Place felt run down which is bad considering its meant to be a historic location. Placed in center of town so can't complain on that fact but there seemed to be other places close by at similiar prices that looked better (i.e. Jims)
