Great location in the middle of Georgetown, average place all round. Pressure by staff to book island tours and ferries

Stay in a twin room with air con rather than double with fan, as the fan just doesn't help the heat. Great location, close to all bars, cafes and sites. Would not recommend having laundry done here too.

Its right next to the road, lot of noise at night. Jimmy is good with information and the facilities provided were excellent for a 10ringgit bed!

Jimmy is a legend, hostel is a bit old but has great character and warmth, i really enjoyed my few days there and do the tour of the island with Jimmy if you have time!

the receptionist was really friendly and helpful, although the staff do have arguements in front of the guests which I did not like, the hostel itself is very clean and has everything you need

only fan no air con. The timber floor is very dusty The staff is very pushy and kept trying to sell tour package or book tickets for me I went back late and the hostel door was down, I have to wake up a guy to get him to open the roller shutter door and all the lights were off, I can't...

We were not given the rooms we payed for. The staff claimed they were full so gave us a double - which had broken aircon!! The whole place stank of bleach and although the staff were helpful - you get the feeling that they were out for all they could get - eg providing us with taxis which turned...

the staff were extremely helpful when i had a bit of a money crisis and the location is great but the rooms and bathrooms leave a lot to be desired, and the girl in the room next to me discovered bed bugs. i don't recommend it.

Scary ladie at reception, the bedbugs, the open mosquito windows, the broken air-con fan, the numerous sweaty bodies on the floor or when in the shower listening to next open wall window take a dump. Its an experience. If only to laugh or watch Thai prostitutes go through their new ringtone...

You get what you paid for. Everything was ok, until we got ripped of with the deposit. They gave us back only half of it!!!

Nice place to stay, in spite of bedbugs in the dormitory. The staff is really helpful and kind with the guests. The place is well situated but not shiny clean. The street is a bit noisy at night so avoid the dormitory which is just above.

A really nice hostel at a really cheap price. The dormitory was clean if a little hot! The reception was pretty friendly untill you refused the over priced taxi service her friend runs! However a good hostel in a good location.

Not a bad place to stay, the staff are friendly, espec the owner. The property is bog standard - def not the worst we've seen, but not the best either. You could def do worse than here. The turtles in the shower will make u look twice!!! x

I stayed in room ten and was devoured by bed bugs ALL NIGHT! Needless to say, I did not sleep well. I would not return as it is also very noisy.
