Didn\'t really like Patong compared to other areas of Thailand, although a good starting point. The main strips of shopping became rather annoying as you have all the shop people trying to drag you into the store and selling you \'genuine brand name\' items at a highly inflated price. Recommend you look around before buying straight away- you can get a pair of pants one place for $5 or $50 depending on where you go! Check all clothes and items for quality/stitching etc. Certain areas very smelly, cannot sit down to relax for dinner anywhere unless it is a more expensive restaurant (eg burasari\'s) Tuk tuk prices fluctuate from 100THB to 500THB depending on who you go with. Still, an experience. Recommend going somewhere less touristy/ during low season. north Thailand and south east islands during the low season were much better!close

The city is also flooded with street vendors trying to sell, clothing, DVD's and other goods. Mind you many of the goods for sale our of poor quality.close

The day tours are awesome and we had Siam tours recommended to us and we thought the service was great. The best one was the one where they take you to James Bond Island; they put on a performance on the way back and its hilarious. But, when purchasing these you should bargain hard because you will be amazed at how low you can get them.close

There is always accommodation in Patong yuou just have to look for it. You can eat like a king for such little money if you decide that you are going to eat Thai food and not go all out for Staks and Mainated Lobsters. Even in Bangla road there are a few bars that chare as little at 50 BHT for a beer. Tiger Club, Safari Club and the Banana Club are places to end up at the end of the night and really get some dancing done.close

I strongly recommend this guest house. And dont forget to take the offers there at him, which we missed and are the best...

The hostel is in a great location, 150m from beach, but music from bars can be heard at night and staff was downright rude. Not a fun place to meet travelers at all! That said I would skip Patong altogether next time. If you do, don't bother with this place, there are hundreds of hotels.

  5. Regent 2002 Guest House 81%

Excellent accommodation for the price, great location - everything in walking distance. Kept very clean, lovely staff. Would definitely stay here again, was the cheapest part of my visit! Excellent for a single traveller like me to get a double size room at that rate.

  7. Lamai Inn 71%

A pretty average hotel located in the heart of Patong (close to the large Jungceylon shopping centre). Rooms were clean, but there were outages of both internet and (more importantly) water during our stay. Desk staff were pretty unfriendly during check-in, and check-out, as if we were making...
