Another of Paris' famous monuments, the Cathedral has had a rich history. It suffered desecration during the radical phase of the French Revolution in the 1790s and was nearly torn down in the early 19th century.

We went to this cathedral on sunday evening and there was a mass but cathedral was still open for tourists and all the chairs were divided from tourists so you can walk around all the people and listen to the songs and take pictures. Entrance was free during mass.

5Each time I go in Paris, I have to spend there few minutes. It's the best place in Paris. There are a lot of people around but you can relax there and the cathedral face it's magical for me. It's the Dame de Paris. And if you go there, visits Les Catacumbes too.

5One of the most famous Gothic cathedrals in the world, Notre Dame was also one of the first Gothic cathedrals ever built. Started in 1163 it wasn’t fully completed until 1345 and once you are standing inside you can appreciate why it took so long. Started in 1163 it wasn’t fully completed until 1345 and once you are standing inside you can appreciate why it took so long. My favourite part of the whole cathedral is the amazing rose windows, some of which still have most of their original glass intact, incredible really when you think of all they have gone through. Well worth checking out while you’re in Paris.close
