If you go to Paris, you simply must see the Eiffel Tower. Cheap to go up. A spectacular work of engineering. Overcrowded with long lines

Worth a visit but the queues are substantial if you go in from the street. The entrance in from the tub is always quite small and you get in quickly. We only covered about 2/3 of the museum but if you have more time take it all in

Quite a walk and then the longest queue to get on the elevator to make it to the top but well worth the trip. Don't be fooled by the sun it is extremely cold at the top

The Louvre is well worth seeing if you are a lover of history and art. This is a place where the day can pass you by and you come out wondering where the time has gone.

The Louvre consists of four levels- massive floors. Each floor show between 2 and 6 themes and make sure you have a map when you go in because you cannot see everything in one day. Also, this is a great area to go to becasue the Arc de Triomphe is visible as well as a beautiful park running adjacent.

Not too impressed, the commentry wasn't clear and we were sailing by things that looked good but I couldn't tell you what they are! Ok if you are running out of things to do.

One of the most famous Gothic cathedrals in the world, Notre Dame was also one of the first Gothic cathedrals ever built. Started in 1163 it wasn’t fully completed until 1345 and once you are standing inside you can appreciate why it took so long. My favourite part of the whole cathedral is the amazing rose windows, some of which still have most of their original glass intact, incredible really when you think of all they have gone through. Well worth checking out while you’re in Paris.

Located in Montmartre you go through the seediest part of the city to get to the Basilica and then all of a sudden, you look up one of the side streets and you see this amazing building. It’s a bit like a mirage really I guess as it’s the last thing you’re expecting to see and you do feel like closing your eyes and opening them again to make sure it’s real. Like a lot of Parisian attractions it is a bit of a climb to the top but again, like the others the climb is well worth it as the views from the top are incredible.

Don’t go to the Louvre expecting to see everything in a day, in fact don’t even think you’ll fit it all into a week because you won’t. This place is huge so you really do need to pick a few areas per visit and stick to them. Also try to plan your visit around the first Sunday of the month when admission is free. Otherwise the entry fee will set you back €13 for access to all areas or €8.50 to the main part of the museum (€9 from July 2007).

Well you can’t really visit Paris without making it to the top of the Eiffel Tower although I will admit it was on my third visit to the city that I finally plucked up the courage. And I have to say I’m really glad that I did. It is one of the most widely recognized landmarks on the planet and justifiably so. Entry to the top is €11.50 but you can take the elevator to the first floor which costs €4.50 or the second floor which will cost €7.80…never really saw the point in that though. If you are there, go to the top…you know you want to.

One of the most famous places to visit in Paris, the Pere-Lachaise Cemetery is more the an actual cemetery, to go there is like to make a trip into a strange world where art and nature unite themselves to create a harmony of peace and meditation. Beshides the world famous Jim Morrison's grave they're many other famous people that are resting here. Better go during the day...because it can be very scary at night. The entrance is free but the guided tour costs € 6.00

This is the mother of all art museums... all the amazing paintings and sculptures that you've heard of actually hang there for real. Read up on the Da Vinci code, or skip all that and do your own thing. If you have a choice at all - go at a time when there are as little tourists as possible...

Some fantastic masterpieces, no doubt, Da Vinci, Ven us Di Milo etc.The building itself is impressive and I like the cool triangle in the courtyard. But the place is dauntingly large and crowded, which can quickly sap your enthusiasm. Still, it would be a pity to miss such an iconic attraction when visiting Paris.

Tours of 8 people plus guide. About 1/2 hour getting used to the Segway followed by a tour of the city for 3? more. Realistically you're not getting off the Segway to visit places, it's all about whizzing around through the sights. If you've ever wanted to try a segway, then there's simply no better place to do it. If there are a group of you, then book a private tour and go where you like. Using Segway is not hard. Helen, certainly over 40?! managed it, and she's not into adrenaline sports!!

This place is from my point of view one of the nicest place in Paris. You are in a small village which is situated in the heart of Paris. There is no noise anymore like in the city centre, no polution, it's like being in a typical french village with his public place, his painter, his artist. If you want to be in an artistical atmosphere, go to Montmartre where Modigliani, Van gogh Gauguin used to live. Take a glass of wine in a terrace and just appreciate the view of Paris. If you want you can make a picnick in the park just closed to the Sacre Coeur.

You have got so many place in Paris where you can make great party but the neighbourhood of "la Bastille"is a very good one. It is one of the oldest area of the city and during the night you can find lot of bar in one small street which is "rue de Lappe" with differents kinds of music,house,r&b,jazz...I recommand one in particular, it is La Bastide which you could find the cheapest beer in Paris in a poetic atmosphere which remind old paris time with singer like jacques Brel,Leo Ferre and Serge Gainsbourg. If you want to speak about the world and "refaire le monde"as we say in France, you have to go in this place. If you are looking for a hot night, go to this street. You will not regret...

Musée de L’homme is located in one of the Trocadero’s wing. This Mankind museum provides a great insight on the evolution of the different cultures on the six continents. This is done through a large selection of Art and craft from the North Pole to Papoua New Guinea.

Very educating and a good occasion to step inside one of the most beautiful Art Décor buildings in Europe.

The sewer museum in Paris. It's located in the actual sewer system. A fascinating place, even if a little quirky and smelly. A complete history of how Paris has dealt over the centuries with several aspects of life most of us pretty much take for granted these days, including water supply and waste treatment. I discovered Paris with an other view. It is less glamour...

Having a pretty serious fear of heights, climbing the Eiffel Tower was never really an option for me when I was in Paris so the Arc de Triomphe seemed much more doable… and it was. Although the 286 steps you have to climb to the top can become quite daunting, the climb is worth every step as the view from the top is sensational. And be sure to have a look at the traffic down below too, those Parisian drivers are insane.

I'm usually not one to be scared of heights but going up those steps on the outside the then in the lift to the very top, again on the outside, wasn't something that I was 100% comfortable with!! Although having said that the view from the top was amazing, especially as the sun set and you could see over the whole of Paris.

My one & only visit to the Louvre was a lovely experience. Myself and the friend with me did a whistlestop tour of all the areas important to the pair of us. This is a place to spend a long rainy afternoon wandering from room to room sampling the visual delights on offer. You could lose yourself for hours on end. Entry for the entire day to the whole museum was just under €9.00, pretty good for day's entertainment & a lifetime of history :o)

A series of tunnels running under the city, the Catacombs in Paris are a pretty eerie place. They're not what I expected either, they're just walls and walls of random bones which have been taken from other burieal areas in the city to stop the spread of disease. You only get to see a very small part too, these tunnels cover over 300km in total.

Get off the metro around Jussieu/Quai de la Rapee or Gare D'Austerlitz. You need to follow the Seine on the south side of the river. You'll come across a small park by the Institut du Monde Arabe - a fantastic building. In the park there are 3 small amphitheatre type spaces facing out on the river. People gather here on summer evenings to dance and picnic until the sun disappears on the horizon. 3 spaces - 3 types of dance - tango, mambo, african, sometimes salsa. It's free and if you don't want to dance just bring some wine and sit back and watch - fantastic...

One of the gotta-do's in Paris. BIG TIP: There's a back door!! Don't join the really long queue just because everyone else has. Instead of spending a couple of hours, look to the right as you face the main entrance.

A must see when in Paris, the square has alot of history around it, between the statue of King Louis that was torn down during the french revolution to the giant obelisk that now stand there. Also the square has the church of the Madeleine on it as well as the hotel de Crillon.

Worth a look at if nothing else. The outside of the building is pretty impressive not to mention the inside. There is also like almost everywhere in Paris alot of history surrounding the building and how it came to be. If you can catch one of the Opera's here it is supposed to be world class but I myself never saw one nor would I be anyway qualified to comment on one.

An absolute must see attraction when in Paris probably its most famous of monuments. The Arc is the biggest triumphal arch in the world, it was commissioned by Napoleon and contains the tomb of the unknown soldier. There is access to the arc by means of an underpass so for god's sake do not try to cross the road and there is also a lift to the obsevation deck. This is a must see and I can't stress that enough you haven't seen paris until you've seen the Arc de Triomphe.

La Sainte Chapelle and Conciergerie complex on the ile de la Cité in central Paris is well worth visiting. You can visit both sites or just one, but the queues for the Sainte Chapelle in particular are quite daunting so be warned. The Church was started in 1241 and is considered a masterpiece of Gothic architecture. The upper chapel has the most amazing rose window and the stained glass is considered the best of its kind in the world. Not surprising - the place just takes your breath away. The lower chapels is ornately decorated and brightly painted.

The Louvre is arguably the world's most famous art museum which is mainly because it houses the world's most famous painting - Leonardo da Vinci's 'Mona Lisa'. Make sure to leave enough time to see as much as possible. The Eygptian collection downstairs is very impressive.

Tour of eight people plus a guide. 1/2 hour orientation beforehand. This is absolutley awesome. See Paris on a Segway and save your feet for a few hours. Standard tour includes lunch, but you can book a private tour if you can fill a group ... and decide what you want to see. EVERYONE can do this.. it's not difficult, and it's great fun.

If you don't count the price of the helpful map to show you around, this place will provide you with the freest amount of entertainment (odd word for a cemetary) you are likely to find in Paris. The graveyard is the home of the great, not-to-great, the good and the unknown. Many of the tombs are amazing and if you go in the winter or late autum when the leaves are turning, the place is magical. Of course you are also here to see the final resting places of some of the world's most famous people, French and foreign. Like Edith Piaf, or Honoré de Balzac, Oscar Wilde (the most horrible gravestone imaginable, poor man), Moliere, La Fontaine, Jim Morrison (another disappointment) and Chopin. The famous names have flowers and candles left every day by admirers, Chopin and Piaf in particular doing very well. But spare a thought for the many others there as you pass from one famous name to another... An odd part of any visit to Paris, granted, but one you're likely to go home talking about and remembering with great fondness..

We went to to the top of this tower for 11,50EURO as you can see price list on the picture. You can see queue as well on other picture. DO NOT GO only to 1st or second floor... it is nothing if you compare it with the view from top of the tower. It is windy up there but there is always two floors on each level and one of them is covered with windows. Tower starts to flash from 5 minutes to 9pm every hour for 10 minutes.

If you want to see this basilique qo there in the evening and you can see whole Paris because it is situated on top of the hill - highest point in Paris and you can see Eifell tower flashing. We were there on sunday and there was a mass inside so entry was free. You cannot take pictures inside but I've took one :) There is around 250 steps from bootom of the hill but there is a METRO train going up to the hill so you can use your metro pass or metro ticket. I would recomend to go there during the mass when people are singing and you can enjoy the sound in this basilique

If you want you can climb to the top of this arc for few euro and you can get nice view as you can see on my picture and you can see whole Champ's Elisee and Eifell tower. Arc is guarded with military as there is a soldier grave under it.

Dark, damp, and very creepy, the catacombs are morbidly compelling. Stacks of bones, some arranged in patterns, line the tunnels which run for X miles beneath Paris. Cameras are allowed without flash but the strangely cheerful staff wander the corridors and will direct torches to supply artificial light if you want to take pictures. A fascinating place, and although we visited in June there was no queue. Not a good idea if you’re claustrophobic or afraid of the dark (or the dead, for that matter).

The Oangerie houses a private collection featuring eight of Monet’s water lily paintings displayed in two purpose-built oval rooms – an ideal location for viewing the works. The lower floor exhibits some great work by Renoir, Cezanne and Matisse, among others. First let me say that this was my second visit to the Louvre. I first visited 28 years ago and can still remember walking in that day and seeing the Winged Victory of Samothrace. It was one of the most moving experiences. I wish I could say the same for my second visit. It is either the pyramid or the DaVinci Code that has ruined this museum. It is now a destination museum in the worse sense. There were so many people (little kids, young students on field trips). Can they really appreciate this art? NO way. I went in my mid-20s when I had a true appreciation of what I was seeing. Now it is like a circus and I feel very bad for the museum. I am just glad that I have such wonderful memories of my first visit.

If there is only one art museum you see in your life then this is the one (and maybe the Tate Modern). Okay that's a bit extreme and presumptive. But this is the best I have been to. I live in Australia and apart from the gallery in my home town this is the only one in the world I have been to more than once! There are just too many great works to see here. The queues in the forecourt can put you off but don't worry they move relatively quickly!
