A decent value-for-money option in Oslo. The location is quite handy - walkable from the Central Station. The room was reasonably big and clean, but a bit stuffy.

It's a hotel, not a hostel, hence the price of $150 per night.

(Have seen them during the russian occupation, but didn't knew that such a concept might exist in a civilized world...) Quite terrible matresses on both beds (and I am complaining about this after several days of rough camping!) Still, I would recommend the place.close

Clean and ok for a rest but not particularly fun or brilliantly located. Reasonable.

Very nice room! Very central location. Some drug dealers by the river close to the hotel, but did not feel any danger. And the view of the river from the room was good!

I was hoping the breakfast buffet would include yoghurts but didn't. Also, a fruit bowl magically appeared for 1 morning only but wasn't available all weekend, strange. Oh and don't be fooled into thinking the round circular things are pancakes...........fish cakes in disguise! The waiters and waitresses seemed to have an obsessive compulsive disorder with tidying away plates during breakfast? Okay, these are only small things but I did enjoy my stay as it was easy to get into town via the trams and buses outside the front door.close

We booked a twin room, but it turned out to be a single bed + a sofa converted into a bed. Felt a bit cheated because this wasn't mentioned in the website when we booked the room.

The staff were lovely & very helpful. Breakfast was enough for breakfast and lunch - always good! Location was perfect for me; just up the road from the (old) opera house, and an easy walk from the main street.

It is located about 1km from the city centre, however, there is a pleasant walk along the river, which takes about 10 minutes to get to the railway station, and a few more minutes to get to the city centre. Excellent beakfast

Anker hotel is what I"d call above average, nothing fancy but did the job at a reasonable price. I would stay again.

The only problem I would note is that the evening meal is only 1 dish per day so there is no choice, and certainly no vegetarian option available.

After checking in, we left to go explore Oslo. Upon our return, we found our room to be without power. After contacting the staff several times and being without power for HALF AN HOUR, they finally actually reconnected our power. And not even successfully...our bathroom still had no power. We were moved to another room only to be awakened at 7am by drilling and other construction noises in the hotel. The staff was rude, inconsiderate, and utterly unhelpful. I would NOT recommend this hotel for future guests. Terrible. F.close

For the "hostel rate" you only get a twin bed which in realiyt is a narrow single bed and a convertible sofa for the second person. Breakfast was quite OK As OSLO is definitely an expensive place all in all price and service are quite OK.

The hostel is in a dodgy end of town where at every corner people ask if you want to buy drugs. It is very dark and old, the building and the rooms stink of cigarette smoke. The rooms are not very big and at times noisy from the main road below. It did offer a good breakfast and it was close to...
