Oslo City Guide

overall city rating 62%

Oslo’s location at the northern end of the Osloford creates a perfect back drop for a Scandinavian adventure in Norway’s capital city. The city is steeped in history dating back over 1000 years; celebrating its millennium in 2000. With many sporting & cultural museums to hand it is easy for visitors to get a view of some of this history. The city is famously attributed as one of the top 10 most expensive destinations in the world & is more geared toward the flash-packer then the budget backpacker. This reputation for luxury & expense has established Oslo as a popular stop for many Baltic cruises when luxury liners dock in the city & travellers disembark to enjoy some shopping & recreation in the city’s upmarket Frogner & Briskeby areas to the west of the city.

The Vigeland Sculpture Park was awesome too, one of the most… more

If you want to see Norway for 1/10 the cost, you can book a cruse ship from Seattle WA. to Alaska. It looks the same. I love the scenery in Norway, but the prices are so high that you feel robbed. If you are a millionaire, then it might be OK. A baked potato cost me $11.00 dollars and a… more
