It is advertised as a B&B but it is really a hostel. It is loud, on top of a bar/restaurant where they have concerts at night and when I was there 2 of the 3 rooms were full of large groups of kids. It is set high up over the countryside on a big square rock, which made a natural boundary for the town as it could not expand beyond its sleep, almost vertical slopes. Again a lovely place to wander around and take in the atmosphere and the sense of timelessness. Its big draw, however, is the stunning Cathedral with its famous frescoes by Fra Angelico in particular. You cannot escape the history of art in these places, sorry. Another of Orvieto’s worthwhile attractions is its wines - especially its dry whites. You’ll find a great many wine-shops throughout the town flogging the stuff , but shop around because prices can vary and it’s not a bad idea to check them out in any local supermarket you find - they can be priced much more cheaply there.close

When we first arrived we were a bit concerned as the room we had booked was no longer available due to a broken tap, but Valentina had everything sorted out. Our room was in a Piazza just off the main street, it was very big and very clean. Breakfast wasn't served because there weren't enough...
