It would have been good to know that we didn't need to bring sleeping bags and that we would have to pay to rent sheets. Otherwise everything was great.

This was a surpisingly good hostel. Although it is farther than we thought, the public bus line 31 took 10-15 minutes to get there, and only cost around 2-3 dollars. The reception was very helpful, and the rooms were clean, as well as the bathrooms. If we were to ever be in Bergen again, we would...

Hostel too far from the center 20 min by bus (and take the bus every time is not cheapest). Everything is charging (using the plate of the kitchen, take lot of food in the morning, using Internet...), toilets doesn't work, some staff is agressive. But the rooms are clean and comfortable and...

There is a bus from close to the hostel into the centre of town and to the train station however my experience was that the bus was not as frequent or quick as advertised.

This place is awesome if you are jetlagged or tired and need serious rest. very peaceful and relaxing but if that is not your thing then dont go there. yes it is a bit out of town, but certainly not difficult to get to and the buses are easy to catch.

Good location for views and walks up the mountain, a fair way from town. Take Plenty of change as you will have to pay for everything, inlcuding oven & kitchen facilities.

It was really clean and everyone staying there was really friendly but watch out for the crazy kitchen guy with the mustache, don't even think about taking a cheese slice out of that room!!!!

Theres a supermarket across the street and if you don't feel like cooking, you can buy a home made pizza. and try the path outside the kitchen for the greatest view of the sunset! The only thing is that the name on the building isn't the same as the name here, its a bit confusing.close

Very good younth hotel. But the price was more high in the hotel than in this website (it's not normal) and you have to pay to use the kitchen.

The service was terrible. I have been in many hostels around the world, but never before experienced as bad service as here. Also much to expencive for what you get. You are better off finding another hostel in Bergen.

The walk from the Montana down the hill to the city centre is highly enjoyable! And don't skip their fabulous breakfast-buffet under any excuse! Really hot water (and not just warmish) would have been highly appreciated for showering though.

When approached the staff would assist however the cost of internet was exhorbitant and no information was available in English to explain how to phone internationally. Clean but 'cold' and somewhat profit-driven. Pity as the site is outstanding.

The Linen rental cost is extreamly high. I think it is an unreasonable price (55 Nkr per person) !!! Moreover, if you want to cook something hot, you have to pay for using electric grill (5 Nkr for 30 minutes).

The bus service isn't very often which is a shame as it is quite far from the town. I think it is unnecessary and a bit rude to charge people to use hobs!

Its very out of the way from the city centre, and kind of difficult figuring out public transportation to and from the hostel. The door to the 20 bed dorm doesn't lock, so anyone from the hostel can wander in at any time, leaving your stuff to be pretty vulnerable.

It is really far outside the center of the city and a huge pain to get to. Not really worth the effort to get there. And the staff was rude.

All staff were extremely helpfull and courtieous. The breakfast was excellant (varied choice) The only downside I would say is the residents kitchen could do with upgrading (it was slightly damp) maybe just needing ventilation. Regards James.
