Very good minshuku and Narusawa san very polite person. Spacious and bright tatami room. In the outskirt of Nikko 10 minutes from the Tobu station, 2 km to the temples. A good choice in a warm minshuku. Big breakfast western style with extra 500 yen.

This minshuku is a nice place to stay overnight in Nikko. Although it is at 15 min walking from the station, the kindness of the owner makes the distance worthwalking.

This is the best place we have stayed in Japan so far. The lady who runs the house was so lovely and even made us sambo's for the train ride when we were leaving. Highly recommended.

Very nice hostel! We had a 2 person room and it was huge. Beds were very comfortable, and the lady that runs the hostel was very nice. Location is great, it only took us a couple minutes on bikes to get to the sights.

This place is worth the walk out of the town centre. Big clean rooms and the owners make you feel really welcome. Its also really close to a cheap but cool onsen.

It was a little out of the way, but well worth it. The woman there was very friendly and even drove me to the station the next morning in her mini cooper. The wireless internet in my room was a great perk, as were the free coffee, tea, and candies. It was a cute little place and I'd definitely...

Wonderful place with nice outlook and nice spacious room. Unfortunately when I stayed there were a bunch of smokers and the whole lodge was very smokey which put a damper on things. If it wasn`t for the smoke I`d give it an A+

The owner was very friendly and spoke good English. She also picked me up and dropped me off at the train station. And lent me an umbrella. The Japanese style room is very nice. And Nikko is a paradise! I would recommend this inn to anyone.

And this isn't the place to meet up with others and have the piss-up of a lifetime. But don't let that bother you, this is a very highly recommended place to stay. There are large, Japanese style rooms. A clean bathroom and clean showers. The host is nuts, but in the best way imaginable! : ) The breakfast is large enough to feed a platoon but the dinner is large enough to feed an entire army and is very delicious. I'm a fan of Japanese food, my dinner consisted of scallop sashimi, tempura that was delicately cooked, a miso soup using local, mountain mushrooms, a local silken tofu deicacy and other things. It was truly memorable and for the price I paid, just nuts like the owner (breakfast is only 500 yen, dinner only 900 - incredible value). She also picks you up and drops you off from the train station when you both arrive and leave. Thanks for a memorable stay.close

She made me three small meals including a sandwich and a can of apple juice for the train ride back. Do not take advantage of her hospitality. Here is a little secret: This place DOES NOT HAVE INTERNET ACCESS OF ANY KIND, but if you have a laptop and if you book the room at the very end of the hall (the one closest to the "Narusawa" sign outside), you can just barely get a signal from an open wifi network if you put your laptop next to the outer window (beyond the sliding doors is a room within your room for drying stuff). There is a another network that is not open and hidden but with Kismet and kcarcriA (read it backwards) you can pick it yourself in a matter of hours. The signals are very weak and you will need an external antenna or card.close

Yes it maybe 10-15minutes walk though she picked me and dropped me off again! She always had a smile and the room was masive, shared bathroom was clean and the whole house was. If i did not have to use my JR rail pass i would still be there!

Definitely the nicest place we have stayed in Japan - really comfy beds, reeeeally friendly owner and a lovely and energetic dog who will willingly take you for a walk! 15-20 min walk to the main street in Nikko and about 30mins to the temples. Highly recommended

Kiyoko the owner was fantastic - very accomodating, changed the booking for us to allow us to stay another night, very kind. Gave us a lift to the station when we left because it was raining and gave us an umbrella!! The hostel very clean and the living room had one of those tables with a space underneath to warm your feet. You can walk their dog as well if you want some more company I would certainly use Narusaw Lodge any time I go back to Nikko.close
