It was a really good traditional Japanese hotel. Highly recommend if you like Japanese stuff (or you want to check it out).

Very nice hotel. Just spent 1 night there, the onsen was perfectly hot and everything was clean. The hosts don't speak english, but arranged an interpreter. It's worth it, recommendable!

The staff was really nice, even drove us back to the station when we left. They don't speak any English though. I believe it's a bit farther than a 10min walk from the station though.

The pillows were like rocks, and the hostel is a far walk to the other side of the river. Also the onsen water wasn't hot enough.

Hostel room was fairly simple but spacious; the staff was able to pump hot spring water to the room for you to experience the ONSEN without compromising your privacy in the basement public bath. Staff was very helpful, friendly and they spoke mandarin. Environment was serene and quiet, and the charges were very affordable. They even had a Chinese restaurant at the hotel.close

Staff were so helpful. The owner drove us around town wherever we needed to go. Only problem was its not in Nikko, its in a another city called Kinegawa-onsen (forget how to spell it). It takes about 15 by train to Nikko; so in that sense the location is not convenient.

The tatami mat rooms are far superior to the western-style "bed" rooms.
