With Monaco and Cannes within bus distance, Nice is an ideal location to base your travels for these day trips. There are a fair number of attractions in Nice, with Le Chateau amongst the top ones. You will not be able to miss this hill! Boasting some of the clearest waters with a beautiful pebble beach, it is no wonder Nice boasts the Azure Coast and Bay of Angels.
Do visit for a good chill-out and relaxing time, but remember to visit the home of Formula 1 in Monaco, with its faboulous street circuit, beautiful buildings and casinos, oogle at the yachts of the rich, and have a blast in this sunny sovereign principality! |

The city was a friendly and fun place perfect to relax and see the French Rivierra for a couple days during a quick vacation. Other than clubs and restaurants there doesn\'t seem to much to see culturewise in the city however I\'d recommend going a bit out of the city to the province of Monaco for great sightseeing of the world\'s richest people. |

Cute beach town, very pretty with a beautiful view. |

Nice is a lovely city on the Blue Coast. It was a nice trip but nothing exciting. It is very close to Monaco just 20 minutes driving. The food is lovely, but is certainly possible to get a bad meal. I was surprised about the people (friendly and open) |

The old town is just fantastic (italian style) as the look out from the view point near the Castle. Pleasant climate a good base point to visit Monaco, Cannes and surroudings. |

Nice is a beautiful city. Shame about all the Americans. |

The beach is wonderful, the water is clear, but the prices are obscene. |

Nice is currently under construction so it's not much to look at. |

If you want to rest in Nice, have whole days spent relaxing and baking on the beach, and then eat fine food for lunch and dinner, then Nice is your best bet. You can eat and sunbake your way through this city quite easily - in fact, the food and the sun are both so nice you won't notice that you're getting an overdose of either.
The people here are also relaxed, and there isn't the same pressure to try and speak perfect French down here, so this is a great place to practice your French. They speak slower and clearer than their Parisian counterparts.
This isn't the place where you party, nor can you really "get away" from people and tourists, since this city is tourist junction. If you want that, you have to go west of Nice, to places like Cap D'Antibbes, or even Cannes.
Most of the action is either on the beach front or in the old town (Vieux Nice). Basing yourselves near these two places will save you a lot of money and time. On the other hand, regular exercise to walk off those unwanted kilos is always good. |

Food in the city was a little expensive but transportation was cheap and there was a lot to do. I definitely have to go back. Nice is well worth a stay. |

Nice has nice places to eat and a nice vibe. For those of us from countries with beautiful beaches, it may be a bit disappointing (limited space, pebbles not sand etc). Easy access to spots on the Riviera is a plus - e.g. Monaco, Cannes. Generally, all these places are a bit overrated - heaps of dogs, heaps of rich people, shops and tourists. Nothing to write home about - but pleasant enough to pass a few days. Visit some of the smaller seaside towns for a more authentic and enjoyable experience. |

nice place to stay, all kinds of activities (sport, going out, chilling, beach, sightseeing, shopping, trips to other towns), nice weather |

This hotel is shabby chic! It is 2 minutes walk to the beach and is located in a street with lots of designer boutiques (e.g. Chanel, Louis Vitton). Very safe at night. Lots of restaurants nearby (but they are a bit expensive so head to the Old town), supermarket within 5 minutes. A little far from the main train station - 20 minutes walk or 17 euro taxi. Our host Martine was fantastic and incredibly friendly. She helped us find everything we wanted to do and then suggested more! Free internet from 5-10pm. There is a communal fridge. Make sure you have earplugs though because the noise from the street can be a bit much. |

Nice is one of the best places that I've visited. The coast is spectacular, the people are friendly and the weather is great. |

The city was alright but we arived at a time when they were doing a lot of construction so it really effected our outlook on the city. made it very cramped on the streets and kind fo hostile. The night life was good though, There for St patty´s day!! |

Sorry Nice, but you were a let down. Was really looking forward to visiting this area, but what a dive. Dog crap everywhere, extreamly rude people, drivers who refused to stop at crossings. Overrated and Overpriced! Sorry but the only thing going for Nice was its resturants - found a fabulous Indian and a Turkish resturant in the old part of the city, but all the glitz and glitter was very tanish and very tacky - made the Gold Coast at home (Aust.) look fantastic. If this is where the wealthy spend thier money - then thier wasting it! We stayed 3days in Nice (in pre-booked and paid for accom) and was glad to see the back of it and the coastal strip when we left - As for the rest of France - FANTASTIC - absolutely loved it !!!!! |

Beutiful city, good place to hang out on the beach, there is probably more to do but we only had a day. |

I got food poisoning at a cheap and cheerful restaurant. Its walking distance to everything. |

Nice is well, nice no other way to describe it |

great place, big social area, easy to meet people! |

very tourist-y but certainly a good time. |

All of the museums in Nice were free for one reason or another (based on what time we went or student discounts) and they were very good, Le Chateau is beautiful and so is the beach. We went when it was not very warm out and there was still plenty to do anyway. |

It's not very cheap, and don't ever trust the buses in Nice to be on time, but other than that, I have nothing bad to say about this city! There's always something to see and do, and the french food is excellent.
Go here before easter and after september - then there's hardly any tourists, and you'll be more likely to experience the true french style, and also, I think the shop keepers are more friendly! |

Nice is a great city for shopping, sights, warm weather and beaches, but the beaches aren't sandy, which is the only drawback. It's easy to get around in Nice. Things are a little expensive, but that's typical of any touristic city. It's got some good nightlife and it's a great place to stay and take day trips to surrounding cities as well. |

I found Nice to be in the midst of transition - particularly with its transportation. A huge chunk of its main attractions are currently overshadowed by this massive overhaul in the main streets. Barricades and inefficient transportation system can make for an unenjoyable time but do take in the beach. Take a day trip to Cannes, Antibes, Eze Village, Cap d'Ail or to other towns. |

The hostel owner is really mean, when i check out, he just kick me out of the hostel without fulfilling the promise that I can put my luggage in their luggage room!!! So i get never more disappointed with such a shit hostel! |

Nice was our favorite city on our trip. You can walk everywhere so it's easily accessible. Great days on the beach, followed by nights out to dinner and/or to a bar...great time! |

I took my girlfriend here and it really is a nice place - lovely weather for start of april! Dint really do shopping but there are tonnes of designer places here, plus lots of bars and restaurants to wine and dine in!! Very recommended!! We plan to return here in the summer |

Nice is worth a day to stop by and relax, but anymore then that and your waisting time you could use at better places. but deffinetly worth cheching out. |

Nice is a great place to spend a few days. For a little fun in an unusual way, head to the Carol de Roumanie park where you can catch a game of mini-golf, or climb the hill over-looking the port to see a great panorama and a giant cascade. If the weather is great, head to the beach but be sure to bring a comfortable towel or rent a chair from the various "private beaches" because Nice beaches are made of rocks!
If you tire of Nice, you can take a bus ride from the bus station to Monaco and Monte Carlo for just € 1,30. |

Weather is excellent at this time of the year! Sun tanning with the cool breeze and warm sun makes Nice an unforgetable place!
If u r looking for a great chill out holiday and fantastic relaxation at the beach, Nice is easily the perfect choice! Shoppnig and local food is within close proximity. Thumps up!!! |

Nice on the affluent Cote D'Azure is a great city. 'Viuex Nice', the city's old town has loads of labrynthine streets with bars and restaurants. And of course there's the beach. Only problem is it doesn't have any sand! |

Fun and relaxing.
Being on the south of france obviously is a bonus during May - the crossover of Spring/Summer when it's nice and hot but not too hot!
the beaches are golden and a great placer to pick up a tan on the sandy beaches.
Recommended taking Flip flops or Sandels as the Sand is VERY hot. Bring some money for the Ice-cream van thats outside and for a drink to stay hydrated.
For those of you that are more active or jsut to give the kids something to do, buy a bodyboard or snorkel with goggles - so that way they're entertained.
They'll be able to see as the waters are fairly clear!
highly recommended to do at one point or another.
When your done - grab a bite to eat in a nearby resturant! |

Nice is a great place to visit if you are looking to relax and enjoy some quiet time. There is not much to see and it is a very resorty town. It is also relatively expensive so be prepared to spend. |

A beautiful and picturesque city with amazing weather and friendly people. The only downside was that I was there for just one day, I wish it was more. |

Nice itself is way over rated. City streets were being dug up for a tramway and it made it difficult to walk around. Beach was stony and we saw rats there one evening. easy to get a train into Monaco. |

Best city of France after Paris! |

really good hostel,, unfortunately, the weather was horrible when we got there, but we could chill out in the hostel. Dinner what they sell is good value. Although its quite inconvenient to get there by walking, its really nice place |

Nice is such a great place to visit. It\'s amazing! Definitely try to go during some sort of festival, and visit the towns around, like Eze Village and Monaco. |

Looks very shabby around the Train station. People are friendly though. Met a guy on a corner of the street who noticed we were tourists and gave us loads of tips. He was from Essex who lived in Nice whilst his family have moved to Montriel in Canada. A lovely fella with a sad tale. My first experienece of the Med! |

Nice is a nice city (pardon the expression) But its not amazing! I found the city a bit dodgy at night time and didnt feel comfortable out on my own. Monaco was amazing though and well worth a day trip if your in Nice |

I seriously miss being in Nice~ Almost to the point where I wish I hadn\'t gone. Not really, i\'d go back~ But, you get the point. It\'s amazing! The closest thing I can compare it to would be the Miami of Europe. The beaches during the summer (when i was there) are absolutely amazing~ Anything you want you can find. |

Hostel was alright. It was just 2 nights so it\'d did the trick. Kinda small rooms, and the whole room stunk like rotten eggs if you left the bathroom door open. And the beds are terrifying. Try to get a top bunk, or you\'re going to spend the night thinking the person on top of you is going to fall atop you!!! |

I based myself in Nice & got the train up & down the coast to see different villages/towns. It was great, each day exploring a new town. Even made it across the border to San Remo, Italy. Got great weather too! |
