We were very lucky as the owner's sister was around as she speaks fluent English. Highly recommend Room 6 for 4 people, it's bright, roomy and very clean. It's like 2 attached rooms with the bathroom in the middle. Ideal for 2 couples sharing with 2 doors in between for privacy. Or good for couple with 2 children so have separate areas. The location is very good, right on the pedestrian street with so many food places to choose from.close

Great location on a pedestrian street with lots of restaurants, bars, shops. Quick walk to the beach. Its a small hotel rather than hostel so you have your own bathroom. There is AC. Owners are SO friendly and helpful. We definitely enjoyed the stay.

A rather "sleep-only" place, but for that, it's excellent. The staff is very helpful, the location is good, although sometimes pretty noisy, if the window is on the street side.

A little pretty hotel in the centre of Nice! :) It is just off the beach and located on the bustling street with many restaurants and shops. Location is really nice... rooms and its terraces are simply pretty and clean! Staffs are also very kind!! :) I really enjoyed my stay there. :)

I recommend. It's an old building, the first impression is not the best, but very good location and the staff are great.

So, we asked our family to call again and explain the sittuation, so somebody from the staff went to the reception and did our check out.close

This had to be the sweetest little hotel in the riviera! The staff was so attentive and accomadating, the room was spotless, the location was very central and on a busy street but never too noisy at night. We had a great stay and I hope to return in the future. Thank you!!

Due to some problem, we were moved further out from the main promenade to a skanky hotel. I called and refused to stay there. They then sent us to a satisfactory hotel on the same street as them who were really good. Med Hotel.

as soon as we checked in we were told that we were being sent to another hotel because the airconditioner wasn´t working. The other hotel was in a dodgy part of nice but close to the beach.

I was not allowed to pay by credit card because I was staying only one night so I had to go change money right away. My room was also the last to be cleaned and I didn't get in until after 3pm. I was allowed to store my luggage in the lobby. The hotel is located on the 4th floor so if you have trouble climbing stairs you should hope the elevator is working. The proximity to the beach and the active pedestrian quarter below cannot be beat and will bring me back again. If you are a woman travelling alone, the hotel Solara is in a safe area. You don't have to leave the rue de France to have a lively evening.close

Security was a slight concern. It was too easy to gain access to other guests rooms with the un-manned reception desk in the evening and certain times during the day. This left room keys available to other guests. Having a key to take away with you along with the front door key would have been...

The hotel staff was nice when they were there, but they weren't actually around at the front desk that often. They also spoke next to no English. When we wanted to leave our bags at the desk before departing, there was no place for them. So we had to leave them out in the lobby.close

In fact, four of us split a room, and since there was only one key and no one at reception, two of us slept on the steps outside the hotel one night. Also, although they asked us to leave the key hanging from a rack on the front desk, the front desk is frequently unstaffed, so anyone in the hotel could access our room while we were gone if they wished. Overall, a good value if you only require one key and have a portable safe-like device to lock up things in your room if you find this system equally disquieting, as we did.close
