The nightwatchman was very unpolite and grumpy. The location was excellent. The room we were in was pretty shabby - paint was falling off the wall and had a bad smell. The bathroom was clean and ok. All in all it was good, mainly because of the location, and if you just go there to sleep its ok.

The mattress in our bedroom (double bed shared bathroom) were really uncomfortable. I would advise the hotel to change the mattresses in such rooms.

The room we got was small and definately had some mold growth going on. The rooms just to the top of the stairs were the smallest ones. We changed rooms to a improved one on our last day. Much better. Centralized in Nice. Safe location. Most likely try another place in the same location next...

overall it is a nice hotel, with lovely nice staff:-) however, the toilets are always broken. and it is a kind of noisy if you are in a room beside the road.

Above average budget hotel. The rooms were a little old fashion but tidy. The location is excellent, 15 min walk from the train station but you can get the tram (2 stops down) if it's too hot! Can only get Wifi in the common room. The staff were helpful.

This hotel was ideal to stay at. They were very helpful staff and the day receptionist was extremely lovely to us. They stored our bags for two days as we had other places to go to, it was very helpful. I totaly reccommend this hotel, for location, staff help and security.

Staff is very helpfull and location of hotel is excelent. On the other hand, because it is located in such a busy area, nights can be very noisy making it difficult sometimes to sleep.

the staff and owner were very helpful and friendly, even driving me to the airport! one employee at the desk though was highly unpleasant and unhelpful. the breakfast was quite nice and the room very clean, quiet and had a tv. Excellent location to Place Massena and the beach!

Really close to beach and main shopping street. 10 min walk from train station. Staff were very accommodating very friendly and welcoming. Would definately recommend this hotel.

great location! really felt like a hotel...towels were provided and changed everyday. only one full bathroom with shower for the entire hostel so sometimes it is unavailable, but very clean and nice. half bathrooms on every floor kept neat and nice large sink provided in the rooms. two thumbs up!

The owner of the hotel is great! very welcoming. The room and bathroom are clean, beds are clean and comfortable- Great location to get around. If backpacking i suggest getting the tram or bus to the train station because it is a bit of a walk. Free internet is always a plus.

The receptionist was very helpful and obliging. He told us buses and trains to take for traveling and, when he didn't know an answer, he looked it up for us online. The room itself was proper and good value for what we spent. I would recommend it to others.

We had a great experience here. Very clean hotel with a great location. The staff was nice and helpful, with the exception of one guy. The free internet use was nice, too. I would stay here again!

This place has a great location: you are in the center of Nice and can go to the main attractions on foot. If you have heavy luggage it may be a bit far from the train station so you should take the tram which is much cheaper than a taxi. The staff was great and very nice and the room had...

I found the staff at the hotel to be un helpfull and cold mannered. Although the hostel its self was fine. The location was good and the rooms were standard. As this hotel is expensive for the quality of what it is I would not suggest a person stay any longer than a weekend break...

Excellent location, great staff, however our room had a tiny bathroom with no lights. The only light came from the window, useless at night. We did have a small veranda and tv in the room which was excellent value for money.

Good place to stay if you want to be central. But by '300 metres to the beach' they mean more like 600m. The staff are a little 'French'... and everythings a bit of a pain for them, but overall, a safe, convenient place to stay.

Staff were.. ok.. Considering they are french :) They could speak english but as all french struggled to find the will to speak it.. Be nice, say bonjour and merci and you should be fine. We had a WONDERFUL an extremely romantic weekend at Hotel de Verdun. Close to the beach and just a minute walk to the shopping centre and shopping street. Fantastic and cozy room in a French romatic style with flowers on the bed-spread and a sweet bathroom in pastels :)

We had a twin room that was spacious. the gentlemen at the desk was helpful when needed. we enjoyed our stay and only paid 35e per night per person, which was very reasonable for what we got...

It was in a great location. Right next to great shopping and the Masseana which has great stores and places to eat. It was also only a couple blocks from the beach. The rooms are large. In my opinion the staff was a little on the rude side, but it is definately worth the money:)

The only complain I have is that the pillows were unsatisfactory as I woke each morning with a creak in my neck - otherwise the hotel and staff were exemplary.
