Great location. Kitchens were huge and had easy access. Bathrooms were clean but kinda prison like, just white walls and stainless steel.

The YHA (as with all of them) are very big and not the friendliest of places to meet people. However the rooms we're very nice and beds very comfortable. Staff were helpful but very clinical.

Although very clean, I got some bug beds over the night. And the beds in the room i slept are quite noisy when someone moves during sleep.

Sometimes the rooms to the street are a bit noisy and there must be some kind of a club nearby.

Amazing hostel, reminded me of a hotel almost. Large kitchen, great entertainment lounge and access to brochures. Clean bathrooms. Very eco-friendly building.

This is the third time I have stayed in YHA Wellington. Each time its been great. Helpful staff, great location with a supermarket across the road which is very convenient and great rooms, with views! Nice Bathrooms aswell.....with proper hairdriers!!

I know that it is a hostel,but there should be some kind of order when school children are staying there,they where running all over the place.there should be a policy by yha for that

first time in a hostel, and thought that this was definately of a good standard. best things about it were the location, staff and security. improvements ould be more orgainised social ativites/ nights etc, i was travelling alone didin't find it very social.

Front of house staff was always great and informative, very smiley. Housekeeping staff got annoying throughout my stay - is it difficult to stay outside the room for 5 minutes while I change clothes to get out of your way? Sorry for sleeping in past 10. YHA are so always standardised... and lack atmosphere and character as a result. There are no surprises, you know what to expect and there is some comfort in that sometimes. Pretty good hostel for advice etc.. and their meal nights seem like good value too.

The room we stayed in stank of urine. The staff was helpful and we were able to switch rooms on our second night. We had an unwanted wake-up call at 5:30 am on our last night, please make sure you know who you're supposed to wake up next time!

I usually stay clear of YHA's but decided to give this one a go and I was impressed. Excellent facilities, clean and tidy, helpful and friendly staff. Good location too.

Never have seen such a dirty smelly fridge in my whole live; even not my own fridge! Towels on the bottom of the fridge gives jerms a good place to live. They clean it just ones in a fourthnight! Great location, very clean, regular pizza or curry nights, helpful staff. As a solo traveller i was a bit intimidated by the size of the place and the number of large groups there. Apart from that it was fine

def the best hostel ive stayed in so far!really central but quiet as well. loadsa comfy areas to relax in and everywhere is VERY clean. staff friendly and helpful...wanted to stay longer but needed to move on. be back one day tho

Overall, a good modern hostel. Only complaints would be that there aren't any lockers in dorm rooms and the mattresses are pretty flimsy. But otherwise all good. And the location is perfect to see all the sights in the centre!

This is a beautiful old building right across from the railway station. They serve a great breakfast if you pay for it when you check in. The rooms are plain but the beds are very comfy. All round an excellent hostel but I wish that YHA would provide basics in the kitchen such as olive oil and sugar because it is annoying to have to buy and carry these things around.

The staff were unhelpful and inconsistent with their information. One day I was informed that I would have to swap rooms and then in the morning after I'd already packed I was told that I could stay where I was!
