Free internet, huge common room (accessible by key only), big kitchen, clean showers, great staff, perfect location off Courtenay (no hills)... only wish there was room in the long-term-stay rooms.

An average hostel, location is walkable within the city. A lot of young people staying here, so kitchen was unfortunately not so clean. The bathrooms were average and the rooms need updating.

great location. staff were helpful too. lockers in the room are pretty standarrd these days and would be really great to seee at wellywood.

Wellywood was great, we got a private room for the price we were paying for a dorm elsewhere so the value for money was excellent. All the facilities were great and the staff really friendly. We didn't use the kitchen but it was large and had ample storage space in the fridges. excellent location for everything downtown in wellington. common room is really big and lots in there.good kitchen but could be kept cleaner.free internet!!!

Having backpacked across every continent bar antartica I can confidently say this is the best hostel I've ever stayed in. The communal areas rocked, they were huge and had everything. Great location and security too, very reasonable price particularly what was on offer. Would most definitely...

Cool hostel, comfortable and for the most part clean. Big common area up stairs with lots of space, couches, tv's games etc, and nice big kitchen - great for socialising. Plus located right in centre - we had a good time!

Redoing some of the bathrooms would be nice. Some don't have sinks when they have toilets and things, just a bit confusing.

Need more working computers. Points for hairdryers in the showers. More sofas in tv rooms, or just a few been bags. Not enough space to fit everyone in comfortably. Staff are incredibly helpful, real asset to the place. Very secure, comfy beds, great atmosphere. Booked another night for...

Great hostel, excellent loctaion - jus off courtenay place, so great for city centre attractions & nightlife. Staff extremely helpful. Reception closes overnight, so you hav to let them know if you are checking out before 7.30am otherwise you lose your $20 deposit. Great location for centre of town, although being so close to Courtney Place means the rooms are immensely noisy, even when windows are closed, which is impossible in a dorm due to the heat/stuffiness generated. This place has a great location in town but probably best to eat out, the kitchen was dirty. The whole place could do with a clean really.

Very Good location. If you are driving prepare to pay $10 during the day to ditch you car near the hostel. It seems there is a club outside that blasts music a few nights a week. We had that happen to us on a Wednesday night for a couple of hours and it sucked so be warned!

i was really surpriced that the staff couldn't tell where I could get a bus to the airport and how much it costs. I think that's general knowledge for a hostel staff...

the internet didn't work once in the two days i was there. the computers were really old and this whole area was a huge let down - which it shouldn't be considering you advertise free internet. spent a fortune on internet down the street at the net cafe.

I enjoyed staying here. Very convenient location in the middle of the city. For being suck a large building it was always clean. The kitchen was large and clean with a lot of space to cook.

Place was pretty cool, but like a lot of places in NZ, too big (and not quite enough computers!). Would have been nice to have more chance to get to meet other backpackers! Good central location though (if you like food and drink!)

After having spent 5 nights in a backpackers in Wellington, i was disappointed with how unfriendly some of the staff were. Only one member or staff seemed to care if they were friendly or not. otherwise it was just okay

Great location, vibe and staff. The experience was marred by a daylong internet outage and the following day there was a daylong power outtage. Women's toilets were blocked for two days on level 3. Overall a great place to stay if they pickup on their cleaning and extra vacuuming.
